My net calories are always so low any downside?

I'm a 6'1 340lb 19 year old guy .You can check my logs and see that I've been chronically eating way too few calories + been in too much of a deficit, although I tend to get a considerable amount of protein. Any inherent downside to this? I just don't want to have a bunch of loose skin if I'm going to lose lbs fast. I weight train on top of doing cardio as well.

How much are you losing per week? Your diary is closed so we can't see how many calories you are eating.

    Nope. Still closed.

How much of a deficit are you running? How long have you been consistently losing 4-6lb per week?

For a big guy, 4-6 pounds a week might be okay for the first week or two simply because of water weight. You might want to increase your calories so you are losing no more than 2 pounds a week. I am NOT an expert though :)

Hm looks like the MFP app didn't want to sync correctly. Just updated it to public on the website and I saw it save so all should be good now. I'm consistently at a 1200-1700 deficit UNDER my goal.

The downside is eating away your muscles. And yeah, probable loose skin depending how far down you go.

Aggressive. But as long as you're functional and feeling ok (motivated, able to work/work out, not cranky all the time) it's doable.

I have this problem sometimes. I burn close to a 1000 calories working out and if i have to net at least 1200 i would have to eat back all of them. Thats allot and i refuse to force myself to eat.

    Your diary is open now.
    I can see it fine.

I'm not an expert on analyzing peoples diaries - but can I ask how you have a daily allowance of nearly 3,500 calories?
I know you are a young male and tall - so this may be right as you are much taller and younger than me. Just seems a lot.

Not that you are reaching anywhere near eating it.

That sounds awfully high. How on earth are you burning 1000 calories in one day working out?

He has 732 calories from exercise, so his daily total is about 2700 which doesn't seem wrong.

The number was due to burned calories I believe. Other than that I am somewhat tall, young, male, and I'm heavy (so more bmr).

oh ok - I don't often look at peoples diaries so I wondered if I was reading it wrong (which it seems I was) - and I havent done calculations for somebody your gender ,age, size as they are all quite different from myself.

Ignore me and carry on....... :flowerforyou:

What exercise do you do daily? Just out of curiosity.

Are you sure the calories for minute rice are correct? If you are really eating just 2/3 cup it would be only 150 calories, according to the Minute Rice web site nutritional info: http://www.minuterice.com/en-us/products/92/WholeGrainBrownRice.aspx

This would mean you are eating 450 calories less than you think and now we are talking really low amounts for a young man.

Mostly low impact cardio like elliptical and stationary bike workouts. I tried to run around my neighborhood on the first week of my diet so it really messed up my hip and my joints b/c of my weight.

For some reason the log isn't scaling to what I put down for the rice. I actually have 3 servings of 1/2 cup rice.
