Provera with PCOS

Has anyone here took Provera and still missed a period? I took it for 10 days until Dec. 18 and thought I have my period already last Dec 26; but it was just a drop and then it stopped. It has been like this for 3 days now(a drop and then it stops again) and I'm really worried. I took it last October and November and it worked. I'm supposed to take it for 6 months. If it happened to you, what did you do?

I know this is not a PCOS-related site and I'm sorry if I'm asking here but money has been a little tight for me right now so I couldn't go to the doctor. I'm just hoping there are members here who have the same situation who could help me. Thanks!

Longest it took me was 7 days after Provera. Might be worth talking to Dr to see if anything to suggest xx

When I was prescribed this it did not work for me either. So they did more blood work and found I had high prolactin levels.

  • it took me almost 2 weeks one time taking Provera. I am actually in the same boat your in right now. I stopped the Provera last Thursday and am patiently waiting for mine to show up as well. But for me it takes a while for my period to come after taking Provera.

I took Provera and never got AF... it did not work for me.

Went on BCP for about 4 months well going through treatment and that worked.

This last month my doctor prescribed Prometrium (name brand) and I got AF 11 days after my last pill (took the pills for 14 days) and then it stopped it was only one day, but then returned 15 days after the last pill and lasted 4 days.

You should call your doctor they might have you go on another 5 days of Provera to see if that will adjust your hormones to induce AF... otherwise you could ask about Prometrium to see if they will prescribe a 5-10 day set. Although they generally like you to take that at the first of the month. Also my doctor told me that Prometrium is safer if you were to get pregnant.
