Ran with my 10 year old nephew

I decided yesterday I was going to run at a running park. the park is 3.3 miles around. I can run further than that so I decided to run it twice. My longest run had been 5 miles so you can see that twice around is well out of my comfort zone. I was going to push myself to do it. but this isn't why I'm making this post.
My 10 year old nephew wanted to run with me. so he strapped on his basketball shoes shorts and tshirt with his little ipod nano in hand we went for a run. I have never been so proud of him, he ran the first lap with me after only ever running one other time and kept up stride for stride without wanting to stop, without walking, without whining...he just kept his legs pumping and ran the entire first lap with me. He is 10 years old and is already a bigger kid (he is a Samoan so his genetics make him a bigger person in general). No C25K just pure dedication and motivation.
so all of you who are starting to run, you can do it. if my nephew can get out there with basketball shoes and just pure will power, you can do a 5K also. I have faith in all of you. if you put your mind to it, you can achieve it. Just know that in your heart you will start and finish strong. no matter how long it takes you, you can do it.
that's me all the way on the left and my nephew in the middle.
I hope this inspires you to push yourself to do what you once thought can't be done. You can and will do it.

you can do it. use the tools that are out there. I didn't use it but Iknow for the people who have C25K works. and one day it will just click. like I said just think like a kid, lose yourself in the run. let your mind run wild and think of crazy things. before you know it you are at 3 miles. I promise it doesn't get easier you just get stronger. stick with it and you will reach your goal.0
