Sugar!

I go over my sugar goal every day! I haven't been eating many sweets, only when i have a really bad craving. I get most of my sugar from fruit. I buy most of my food with reduced sugar or sugar free, so the fact that I'm eating too much sugar is really frustrating!

Does anyone else have this problem? What do you do to lower sugar intake?

Also, sugar from fruit and things like that isn't that bad, right? It's better than eating candy and a bunch of refined sugars, so is going over all the time going to effect my weight loss?

The sugar goals here are ridiculously low. Very few people stay within them. Try to keep your processed sugars to a minimum and you'll be fine. I've always been way over on my sugars regularly and it hasn't stopped my weight loss.
  • I have the same problem. I really like milk, but even the 1% will put me over my sugar pretty quick. I try to eat better, but sometimes my sugar is over by lunch time, even when my fat and calories are well below the limit for the day.

My only advice is to watch what you drink. Water or unsweetened tea maybe your best bet.

My wife tells me that fruit sugar is better for you because it is natural, but it is disheartening seeing that red number every day...

The sugars in fruit and milk are natural and needed. Change your nutrients tracked if it bugs you to see red numbers. I haven't tracked sugars on page one of my diary for a long time. Page two tracks them by default, so if I want to see how I'm doing I look there. No red numbers on page two (the printable report page).

I know that's why I've been feeling so bad about it! I don't generally drink anything other than water all day, although I have one glass of no sugar added fruit juice in the morning and coffee with sugar free creamer before breakfast!

It's good to know that other people have the same issue.

I thought this was a post about System of a Down. Carry on.
