Hi All,
I'm new to insanity week 3 day 3. I've lost about 2 pounds so far. I'm a bit confused as to how many calories per day while doing insanity do I really need to be successful? I am 5'2 137 lbs 29yo and I'm losing motivation because I feel like I'm not doing it right since I'm not losing as much as I expected when I started insanity. Any suggestions? Also I just started using 100% whey protein shake and wants to know if this is beneficial for insanity? Thanks in advance everyone!

My best advice from past experience... I used MFP and the insanity workout/nutrition plan together last summer. Starting stats for me were 5'4 140lbs 23yo. After the whole 60 day workout program and tracking at least 1200 NET calories per day (sometimes a little more), I ended up losing a little over 6 pounds, a whole pants size, and my waist went from 35 to 31.5 inches. I tracked the workouts as calisthenics vigorous effort except for the stretch day, which I tracked as calisthenics moderate effort. 4 pounds worth of that weight loss occured in month 2 of the program. I made sure that my food choices met my daily protein, carb, and fiber needs on MFP and tried my best to use the guide "Michi's ladder" that came with the insanity program. If you don't know what Michi's ladder is, I would highly recommend visiting:

I always felt my best when I chose foods from the first 3 tiers of that food guide and it reduced my belly bloat dramatically.
Hope this is helpful! I didn't lose nearly as many pounds on the scale as I had hoped over the 2 month program, but I know I replaced alot of fat with muscle since my pants got loose and my measurements dropped dramatically. Don't lose your motivation just because of what the scale says!! Take progress photos and all-over-body measurements as well. You will see a big difference by the end0
