Chicken Gizzards
Hi all, I am looking for different ways to cook chicken gizzards besides battering and frying, not that I don't just love them that way but I wanted to save on some calories. We cooked some on the grill and they were good. Just wanted to know if there are any other ways to cook them. TIA

I never thought about it but, I'll bet they would be good in a stew.0

Fried is the only way! :laugh:0

You can stir fry them with celery.
Take the gizzards and slice in smaller pieces. Sauté with olive oil, garlic, sugar, soy sauce, and chili peppers. Add chopped celery and tofu if you'd like. Then serve over rice. YUM!0 -
I boil my chicken gizzards and then season them with chopped cilantro and green onion, black pepper, salt, and a little bit of the broth.0

My parents used to boil them in water, drain, then eat them with a sauce, such as BBQ sauce.0

I use them in chicken noodle soup.0

I just cook them up in a little olive oil with salt and pepper bit of flour and beef broth when done to make a gravy, throw in some sauted mushrooms and onions and put over rice.0

You can curry them.0

Get inspired by Japanese yakitori! Marinate them in some soy sauce and mirin, garlic paste, and chili flakes. Skewer them onto a bamboo skewer and grill on really high heat! The ends will get nice and charred and the sauce adds flavor without fat. Look up yakitori recipes for more ideas!0

A co-worker told me to sautee them with onions. Also, do a search. I saw a topic related to the cooking of gizzards a while back.0

This sounds really good, but I think I will use chicken broth instead of beer as my husband is a recovering alcoholic, for many years now but I still don't make anything with alcohol in it. Better safe than sorry.0 -
I season them and bake them in the oven.0

Salade aux Gesiers is one of my favourite dishes. Pan fry duck gizzards, slice thinly on a bed of salad and add vinaigrette. So jealous you can get gizzards.0
