I met my husband in an AOL chatroom in 1999. So I wouldn't meet any dudes from here, chicks for sure for friendships. But meeting an online crush is the norm nowadays. Go for it!

I've messaged quite a few people. No one I know lives near me but I might consider meeting them if they do.

I thought everyone had a GeoCities page, and hung out in their chat rooms.....either there or Chatropolis. But then again, you AOL people lived in a walled garden.

The people I've grown closest to on MFP live sooooo far away, but maybe someday, I will book a ticket and visit them!

As for dating, if I weren't already attached, I see no problem with a relationship that starts online.

:-) in 128 days I will MARRY someone I met here on MFP!

I really do enjoy casual and random conversation with people. If I feel like there's a connection then yes I would meet up...though a lot of my friends are long distance anyway. I haven't met anyone on here as of yet ...and as for dating, I'm unavaliable.

    nice! Congrats!!!

I would meet and/or date someone. I've never done it though. There is usually never anyone close enough to meet up with.

He wasn't close at the time. :-) We lived on opposite coasts, he moved out here last year. It was actually a huge stretch for me, it was never how I imagined I'd meet someone. But the connection was so great I had to take the chance.... turned out to be the best chance I've ever taken!
  • Would meet up with a couple of bro's to work out if any lived nearby.

I don't think I could live with the disappointment of someone meeting me in person.
