I just bought a scale today so I can start weighing my food so I can keep a better track of how many calories I am eating. I was wondering when I'm fixing meat should I weigh it before or after I cook it? Another question is about seasonings, like tonight I added garlic salt onion salt and pepper to my chicken. Should I be measuring seasonings out to, or does it not matter because it doesn't really make a big difference to the calories.

I don't measure seasonings. I don't worry about those calories. I do log things like ketchup and salsa, but not dried seasonings like pepper.
As to weighing meat, I weigh after cooking.0 -
The most accurate way to weigh your meat is to weigh it raw. If you choose or need to weigh it after cooking, then be sure you choose the appropriate entry in the database (baked, fried, grilled, etc.)0

I use the recipe builder in this database and enter all the ingredients before cooking. The only reason why I log seasoning is to have an idea of what I used in a particular recipe.
If you cooked chicken, did you use oil or butter. If you did, then also log it.0
