5'2: 171lbs-122lbs

I was going to hold off posting my story until I reached the 50lb mark but then I thought what the hell. Over the last 15 months I have gone from 171lbs to 122lbs. I am 5'2. Unfortunately i never realised how big I was. It took a few harsh comments from some family members to make me realise I was being pretty unkind to my body. Also when I used a BMI calculator and it told me I was obese, I knew something was wrong. I always ate healthy meals but for me portion size was a big problem and I also used to pig out when I was feeling down.
I didn't do anything special to lose the weight. I joined a gym and try to go 4-5 times a week. I enjoy running now and ran my first half marathon last month which was a big personal achievement. As of next week I am going to start lifting heavy and I am looking forward to trying something new.
I have never been overly strict regarding calories. I try to stay roughly between 1400-1600 a day but if I go over, then it is no big deal as I decided a long time ago that I was in this for the long run. I absolutely love food and have not given up anything. I eat some chocolate everyday and plan to always do so and I am confident this is a lifestyle I can maintain for the rest of life.
So life is good. I love clothes shopping and plan on living everyday to the max. Thank you to everyone who posts their success story on here. I have found them to be a huge source of motivation and they have kept me going all the way through.

I'm the same height and starting wt. I'm glad you posted and especially glad you gave the timeframe because you basically lost 1lb/wk ... which is totally doable but not overly aggressive. Congrats on your loss, you look fantastic! LOVE the dress .... and your iphone cover. Did a double take on that. heh0

Awesome! You are giving me hope. I am the same height.
Started almost same place (my highest was 159). At my lowest I was at 128 and now stuck at 134.
But 122 is possible. I have this irrational fear that I can never weigh that little. Like there's a wall I'll never be able to bust, but maybe I can.0 -
Wow incredible, you rock girl!0

And like others here I also LOVE your iPhone case!!!!!0

Good job! You look great-- I bet you feel better, too. At the risk of sounding creepy, your backside looks great in the bikini.0

I usually always eat back exercise calories. To be honest if I am hungry I will eat and if not hungry then I don't. For me the extra calories is one of the best things about exercise0

Amazing life style change. I myself went from 184 to 121 and I'm 5'3"0
