Daily Calories set by MFP?

So I am pretty big and have over 150 pounds to lose. But MFP have set my daily intake at 1460 - I think this is quite low, although I dont do any exercise.

When you watch some weight loss programmes some people eat up to 2000 and lose weight.

My fear is being hungry so I will try at this range but I may have to eat more.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. x

People on those weight loss programs also exercise.

Change your weight loss setting to fewer pounds per week if you don't think you can eat that few. Losing two pounds in one week wont be helpful if you "break" and end up binging.

Reset your goal to lose 1 pound per week, and challenge yourself to be more active. That does not mean you have to run a marathon or even a 5k. Walk around the block. Walk in place during commercials while watching TV. Park further from the store/bank/etc. so you have to walk a little further. Avoid drive thrus - park and go into the dry cleaner, bank, etc. Find little ways you can be more active even if its just a little bit at a time.

Then in a few weeks, see how you're doing, and revise your goals if necessary. To either move more, or adjust to a 1.5 pound per week loss rate. Its up to you.
