Hi All,
I'm just looking for some fellow running friends. I'm pretty new to running, but love it so much. I've been running a mile three days a week, and almost two once a week. Next week, I'm going to start increasing my mileage (by the 10% rule). I think it will be very motivational to have some friends who also run. Thanks!

i'm a runner too! I love it! currently I am not able to run because of my knees, drs want me to wait a little longer before I jump back on the treadmill.. but running has always been my exercise of choice! so proud of you for getting into it and loving it! Just a suggestion, you probably have your own routines planned, but when I am trying to increase my mileage I will do the walk some run some approach.. For example, start off by walking at a brisk pace for 4 minutes. then on minute 5 bump it up to a pace you are comfortable with running at and run for a minute then come back down to a walk for another 4 minutes.. I always would do this routine for 30 minutes, each week, or every other day once I got better (it doesn't take long as you'll find! ) to the point where I would walk for 2 minutes run for 3, walk for 2 walk for 3... then the next week walk for 1 run for 4... until you feel comfortable running the whole 30 minutes straight through! Just a thought, sometimes it makes your time go by a little faster and the interval training helps with weight loss too Excited for you girl!0

I LOVE to run! I'm just getting back from surgery last year, so I'm only at ~1 mile eery other day, but I'm getting there! I'll send a friend request. I'm hoping to be up to ~25 miles per week by the end of summer! Yay!
I love your profile picture! What a difference a month makes!0 -
I'm a runner! I've run on and off for about 12 years, been running consistently for about 3.5 years and have completed 10 half marathons and 2 marathons (lost track of the 5k's). I have 4 more half marathons this spring and my next marathon is in October. I could talk running 24/7, I listen to dozens of running podcasts while I run and in the car, read every running book I can get my hands on, am on running forums, have a ton of running friends (including DH who has also run 12 half's and 2 fulls), belong to a few running groups where I live, etc. I love running!:)
ETA: Love that you're adding mileage smartly at 10% a week!! You're doing great!0 -
