Sugar vs Calories!

Hi,
I love fruits and I feel miserable if I don't eat fruits (I grew up basically on fruits since I didn't like food that much when I was a kid)

Anyways, now that I am trying to cut back on calories and watch for macros, I have a problem:

I can still fit fruits in my calorie goal, but I always go *way* above the sugar limits. (I go up to around 100g per day but my goal is 50g per day)
Even after replacing my daily apple, pomegranate and banana with berries and oranges I still get a lot of sugar from them.

So should I worry about the sugar limits even when the calories are reasonable, or should I mainly focus on just calories?

Thanks a lot!

I, personally, ignore sugar and track fiber instead. I, too, love my fruit (and ice cream).

Unless you have a medical condition that requires you to monitor it, ignore it. I would make sure you're getting enough protein and fats in your diet, so as long as you aren't eating so much fruit, etc that it's making it difficult to hit those targets, go for it!

If your hitting you calorie target still, then don't worry about it and enjoy your fruit.
