Weight loss after antidepressants

Hello I am new to the board. I am starting my weight loss adventure after putting on 16 lbs in the past 4 years. Weight gain started since I started taking an antidepressant 4 years ago. Slowly I gained the weight regardless of my eating or exercise pattern.

Finally with my dr approval I am not taking the medication anymore and really want to loose the weight I gained. I started training for a half marathon in 7 weeks. Hopefully the exercise will help.

That's an awesome plan :) Well done! Exercise and healthy living will be better for you than anti-depressants ever could.

Hi Martha, I'm also pretty new to the board. I am on anti's as well, I'm fortunate enough to be fighting that uphill battle instead of letting it do it's thing. You got this, just make sure you eat and drink your way out of it.

I was in the exact same boat. In the end the doctor changed my tablets and now I'm starting to work off the pill fat. The natural feel good factor of finally doing exercise is an added bonus lol.
    Good luck xx
