What's the best SMALL change you've made?

The best small changes I've made are always taking the stairs at the station and at work, and cutting down on the large number of lattes and cappucinos I used to buy. I haven't given up my costa/starbucks/cafe nero habit completely, but the money in my purse is definitely lasting longer these days.

Not sure if I'd call it small, but I cut 99% of bread out of my diet.
I'd have probably 20-26 slices a week. Now I have 0-2 if that.
I never feel bloated anymore. I've had 1 sandwich in 2 months. Highly recommend it, if you can do it. I've dieted many times before, this is the first time I've managed to cut bread out at any meaningful level!

The best small change I've made has been switching to water. I cut out soda almost a year ago. I have seen great improvement in my skin and lost five pounds almost right away.0

Cutting out all sodas! Since doing that I never actually have the urge to drink them! Haven't had a can of coke in a long long time which is saying something.. because I used to be a 2-3 can a day kind of girl hahahaha0

Can't pick just one. But the secret for me has been if I eliminate something, I replace it with something else. I don't eliminate anything without substituting.
Stopped using butter, use olive oil.
Stopped using Splenda, use Truvia
Stopped using milk, use AlmondMilk
Stopped fried foods, cook grilled or stir fry
Stopped coffee, drink herbal teas
Stopped yogurt, use Greek yogurt
Stopped sweet ice tea, drink water w/lemon
Stopped fattening breakfast choices, drink a fruit smoothie

Logging ALL my food. So I can't lie to myself about how much I'm eating.:blushing:0

And water, I used to drink 10 diet Pepsi a week or so, give or take. Now I drink one diet Pepsi a week and a gallon of water a day.0

No sodas and no caffeinated products at all. Stopping caffeine had less to do with weight loss and more to do with the fact I was drinking so many cups of coffee and tea I wasn't getting a boost of energy from the caffeine. I could have drank a pot of coffee and immediately lain down for a nap. I spent a week snarling at people and dozing off, but now I feel more energetic than I ever have. Also, now if I actually NEED a little boost, a cup of coffee will actually do it's job. Bonus: less coffee drove me to drink more water.0

Bought myself an activity tracker and realized how sedentary my life was - eye opening for me and a great motivator. This small change (along with tracking everything on MFP) has made all the difference in getting me active as well as loosing.

Best changes: Cutting down on simple carbohydrates, while upping protein intake. Walking more each day.0

Started using my food scale for everything but liquids. It's made a world of difference.0

Making an effort to walk/exercise for at least 30 minutes each day, usually at least 60 minutes. Might seem small to most, but I have been VERY sedentary for a long time and just in the last week, I can feel the difference its making in my health.0

Seriously cutting down on pop, I'll drink it once a week, if that. Also I've quit going to buffet restaurants because every time I go, I feel I have to "get my moneys worth" so I eat way too much0

I started drinking my coffee black.0

Wiser menu choices when dining out. And not forcing myself to finish a restaurant portion when dining out. And less frequent dining out.
Restaurants were my Achilles Heel.0 -

I stopped celebrating with food. I mean this more as a family/friends thing, not as a self-reward for losing weight (I use new running shoes for that!).
My current boyfriend is a cyclist and instead of celebrating by say, going out to dinner or for icecream or whatever, we map a bike tour or hike and take a mini adventure. There is still food brought along, it's a part of the experience, but it's so great to not have food be the central focus of time spent with others.0 -
Working out twice a week ... best thing i have ever done0

hands down winner: measuring ingredients.
second place: logging calories in and out.
third place: simplifying the meals that I eat for fuel... i eat the same breakfast and lunch four to seven days a week. tasty. fast. nutritious. i don't have to think about calories or macros and its easy to log.
My third choice was a surprise. I *love* food: cooking it, eating it, sharing it with others. I figured that eating the same thing almost every day for breakfast and lunch would be a drag. It isn't... the truth is most of my breakfasts and lunches are pit stops: I refuel and go.
I still have regular foodgasms by cooking outrageous meals, eating out and sharing food with others and I worry less about the effects of doing so because two-thirds of my meals are really predictable. But simplifying wouldn't work nearly as well without the first two changes.0 -
Dropping chips. I think I tend to go a little nuts on them, so I pretty much just don't buy them anymore.0
