First of all Happy Easter to all who celebrate.
But I'm sure that even if you're not on the religious side (like I am - believer, but not a church-supporter) being with the family on a holiday can be bad. Especially when the family is not supporting you - mine support me spiritually, but they keep on bringing a billion and one temptations and when the mood is there... well... you end up with a holiday binge.
I really didn't want to binge in today, I made the healthy choices up until it was desert time and I completely blew away the rest of my calories for the day. And it was all done by 2pm...
How are you going to deal with it?
I will do a longer workout today now that everyone is gone. But I will still have a bit of dinner - just some turkey breast to add some protein. Tomorrow I intend on going like any other day - no crazy compensations, cleanses or what-not. Man... I'm just pissed at myself for eating all those holiday cakes...
And just to note it - I'm over my daily limit with about 150 calories and if I skip my dinner (which I won't ) I'd be just at it. But... yeah... Not happy with stuffing myself with bad carbs

I made the menu plan well in advance- I had planned a really elaborate meal (ribs and pulled pork, fries coleslaw apple crisp for dessert with ice cream) but then after a stall with the scale I decided to lower my calorie target- that put a wrench in my easter eats!!!!
Still I pre logged the day with some adjustments, lighter breakfast, protein packed lunch, smaller portion of ribs, bunless pulled pork, coleslaw, no french fries, and apple crisp no ice cream.
I figure- if i get a workout in, then I will reward myself with fries or ice cream and add that back into my tracker- but if not, no worries, im happy with what I planned!0 -
I had it pre-planned as well. Last night I planned and wrote down all the recipes that were going to be used to get everything accurate. I had it perfect. Aaaand then the plate with the cakes was placed in front of me and I had 2 pieces (100g together) + some icecream... pfff...But yeah. Waiting now a bit to digest and I will hop onto my stationary bike, followed by a double workout (doing Body Revolution and might try the first T25 video).0

My family is having brisket, homemade yeast rolls, homemade mashed potatoes and sweet potato pie! I just intend to be careful during the day, have only one portion size of each and then wash my plate and be done. It s just a holiday, it doesn't change my goals or my plans. I'll probably be a little over my goal, but to avoid a binge I will just have one scoop of each thing and 3 ounces of meat. After my journey, I am having a hard time understanding why I always felt I needed to eat so much at holidays. Now it jsut doesn't make sense lol.0

I would simply be enjoying the time spent with my family, rather than obsessing over a single day in the course of a year.
Some of us are spending Easter alone and would be very happy to be able to spend it with family, calories be damned.0 -
Another Follow The Money holiday :-p ... eat drink and be merry ... you'll be back at work tuesday and it will all be over 'till the next one, so have some fun and 'good' grub.0

I have eaten 41g of my chocolate egg, split the rest up I into food bags and try not to eat it.
But if I go over today, I am not going to worry, I will get active later to earn some calories back.0 -
We already exchanged gifts and chocolate on Friday and I enjoyed my chocolate. Haha.
I can live with some temporary weight gain. I won't be happy about it and maybe I'll have slowed down my progress a little compared to someone who didn't have any Easter treats but in the long run I'll feel better anyway.
I believe in moderation and holidays like Easter or Christmas happen once a year.
If you want this to be a lifestyle change and not a diet, then you can eat everything in moderation.
Obsessing over calories all the time is definitely not the healthy way to go. I'm still struggling with this but deep down I know it's true.0 -

I might have to print this down and stick it all over my place. Still working onto changing my mind-set and adjusting to the new lifestyle.0
