Does anyone know any low-calorie alternatives when craving chocolate or sweets in general? When I have those cravings (usually at night) I always go crazy on chocolate or cookie dough which is terrible.

Fit small amounts of good-quality dark chocolate into your calorie goal. Deprivation can lead to bingeing.

Well, not low-calorie, but I do make my own dark chocolate coated peanuts, pistaschios, or almonds. I portion it out, and I get a good kick of nutrients along with the calories. I use and ounce or so of 70%-85% dark chocolate (preferably with sea salt) and it keeps my cravings at bay.
I don't mind the calories if they fill me up and provide protein, antioxidents, and heart-healthy fats as opposed to sugars or saturated fats.
I have a difficult time find dark chocolate coated nuts in stores with the exception of hazelnuts, which are spendy.0 -
First I drink water. Lots of water. ThenI get my favourite chocolate and then eat a very small quantity of it - I take a few pieces and then put the rest back behind other stuff. I go and sit and eat what I've taken as slowly as possible to truly enjoy it.
I find that if I try to eat alternatives to the things I truly want then I end up binging on that thing...never good.0 -

If you like Nutella with fruit or on whole grain toast, then maybe try Justin's Chocolate Hazelnut Spread which is way healthier and lower in processed ingredients and sugar. If you do like it more sweet (like Nutella's), you can add nectresse/stevia/splenda/agave/etc.0

I keep dark chocolate kisses in the house for chocolate cravings because I can control myself around them. I bring in enough peanut butter cups for 1 serving. Hope that helps!0

Kashi Dark Chocolate Coconut granola bars. These are delicious and chocolately. Only 120 calories, and they have whole grains, fiber, and protein to help you feel more full and satisfied than with other chocolate treats.

If you're having a cookie craving, these are yummy: Chocolate Almond Butter soft-baked cookies. These also have whole grain, and are 130 calories for a fairly large cookie.

Lately I've been doing dark cocoa covered almonds to meet that sweet craving. They are also full of good fats and protein. I try to leave room in my calorie goal each day for something a little sweet. Some days it is something more healthy like the cocoa almonds, other days it is less healthy like cheesecake.0

I spent a bit of time today cutting up and weighing my Easter chocolate into serving sized bits, and then putting the baggies in the freezer.
Typically if I'm craving sweets, I sit down with a coffee after dinner and one serving of chocolate and slowly eat/drink it all while browsing the net or playing video games. Taking time in between bites makes it feel like so much more than a quick snack. Surprisingly reaaaaaaaally satisfying and fits perfectly into my calorie goals. I find that the better I eat, the more potent even a small amount of chocolate is to me lately so I get my fill easily from 40 grams or so.
Those bags of assorted mini chocolate bars are also AWESOME if you can commit to only eating one or two where your calories allow0 -
I also made chocolate pudding by blending 2 bananas, 2 avocados, some unsweetened cocoa powder, and a bit of water. Freeze it and it's ice cream! Made 3 servings of 200-ish calories.0

I have been following Paula Deen's advise that was in a Woman's Day magazine article. She said she sucks on a lollipop for about 10 min and it satisfies her cravings for sweets especially right after a meal. I bought a big box of Chupa Chup lollipops and will have one of them when I need it. They are only 50 cals each and seem to do the trick. Another trick is Jello no-added-sugar vanilla or chocolate puddings found in the refrigerator section at Walmart. One of them is 60 cals and with a dollop of Light Cool whip it is still under 100 cals and really delicious.0

Buy an expensive bar of good dark chocolate and just eat a "row" each night. I do that as my treat. The row is three little pieces and I'm cheap and don't want to eat $5 worth of chocolate at once so it keeps me from eating more. LOL!!0

Dark chocolate is your friend. It is much healthier than the milk chocolate varieties.
I eat some every day .. as I am not willing to restrict the things I love.
Sadly they are predicting that the price of chocolate will rise substantially in the next few years due to short supply, so enjoy while we can still afford it.0 -
I've tried the sugar-free chocolate route, and had unsettling digestive trouble, if you know what I mean. Best to get some serious high-percentage stuff, like 90% or so cocoa, and parcel it out sparingly. It's so rich that you won't want to chow down a whole bar of it, and a square or two aren't killer on the calorie count.0
