Took Eye Of The Ball And Put Weight On

Hi all,
A bit of background Christmas 2012 I got weighed and without realising ballooned to 16 stone 4. I'm 5ft 11 and mid twenties.
I downloaded my Fitness My Pal on the 6th January and started logging with a target 1520 calories. Found fairly easy and met my target of 12 stone 4 at the end of September 2013.
I stop logging 30th January 2014 for various reasons. Complacent and the daft reason I didn't have enough storage on my phone for the app. Stupid I know.
The last week I've felt heavy for some reason. So today I went bought some new scales and got weighed. I'm shocked that I'm now 13 stone 1lbs now. Although It's tea time and I've had full day of eating so it's not really a true weighting.
From tomorrow I'm back to logging. I'm going to my goals tomorrow, but my aim is going to be 12 stone.
I'm so angry at myself.
Does anyone have any advice or information on this sort of thing?

Losing 1 stone is much easier than losing 4. It'll take you a lot less time to get back to where you want to be this time.
From the timeframe it looks like you were gaining about 1/2 - 3/4 of a pound a week (given that you're up 11 pounds, but it's after a full day of eating). This is not seriously overeating, but rather a slight excess each day.
If you're going to go on and off tracking, I recommend weigh-ins more frequently than once every 3 months -- once a month should do.0 -
Welcome back. I left the MFP site for four months and lost some of the progress I'd made. What did I do about it? I started logging again, started weighing my food again and started going to the gym again and guess what: I'm looking and feeling better...again!
I highly recommend getting a digital food scale and weighing everything. Find some physical activities you like and do them on a regular babsis, too.
Also, don't put too much stock in your body weight scale. A food scale and a mirror will cause way less insanity than arbirtary numbers on a body weight scale.0 -

I'd recommend developing a plan for maintenance, just as you had/have a plan to lose weight. Maintenance doesn't just happen and successful maintainers (I strongly suspect) all have a maintenance plan.

With 12 lbs. to go, set your goal to .5 lb. per week, and be patient. The smaller deficit will help you transition to maintenance.
Once you reach your goal, your weight will fluctuate. And it will take trial & error to find the number of calories at which your weight will stabilize. If you weigh yourself every week, then you won't gain back another 12 lbs.

Best way is, once you reach maintenance, continue logging food, monitor your weight closely, see what happens at what calorie level, and find your true maintenance calories. Keep regular weigh ins and you will be able to catch yourself before you gain too much back again in future. But bear in mind weight fluctuates anyway, so most people keep a 5 Ibs range they are comfortable with.0
