    That's true. There is a 71 year old man that lives near me. Every single race he beats me by miles. He beat me by 21 minutes in the 10 mile race yesterday. :grumble:

    Maybe when I'm 71 I'll eventually beat him. He'll be 101 at that stage. :laugh:

    Love this!

    Slow and steady really does win the race... especially in the beginning when winning is making the distance and crossing the finish line!

    I love this, so many people are used to the "instant" gratification and results that living in the modern world brings (e.g you're overweight? That's OK we can suck the fat out if you pay enough $$). But with exercise there isn't a shortcut, you can't just walk into a surgery unfit and come out the other side being able to run a marathon. The only way to do it is hard work (usually some pain) and dedication. Which is why it doesn't matter if you are running 1 mile or an ultra marathon, you've worked hard for it and you should always be proud of your achievements :-)
