Doing it this time!

Hi! I am not necessarily new to MFP, but have never been on the actual website. I mainly use the app!
I am here today because I am determined to this (AGAIN) and keep it off this time! October 2011 I saw the 21 day No Junk Food Challenge and decided to take the challenge. I lost 70lbs in time. Gave up soda that day and haven't had one since. Well, since August 2012 I have gained back 45 pounds! YES, 45!!!! I am so sad and depressed that I let myself get this way again! I loved looking in the mirror before and buying clothes. I am now back to hating it! A little background...I am currently going through a divorce. I have three children (17, 14 and 10). This whole process has been extremely difficult. I know part of my weight gain is because August 2012 I had to get a full-time job. Before I was a preschool teacher for 18 four year olds. I never sat down making the weight loss easier. My job now is sitting behind a desk for 8 hours! I have the drive to eat right, but not the drive to walk. I was walking four miles at least four times a week. I was really excited three weeks ago and ate right, walked 1.5 miles every night, and drank lots of water. Stepped on the scale and gained three pounds! Got so frustrated that I gave up in one week! I have to get back on track and lose this weight. I am ashamed that I have gained it back! I am hoping by coming to the MFP website I will find the motivation I need to lose the weight and love my body again!!!!

I am also very frustrated with myself and the amount of weight I have gained back! And then because I was frustrated and depressed, I would eat even more! It really is a vicious cycle that only gets worse the longer we ignore it.
This time BOTH of us will do better!! :-)0 -
EXACTLY!!!!! Once the scale showed I gained weight after my hard work I didn't care. After I saw myself in the mirror this morning....I CARED! This is our time!!!!! Let's do this, Dozrzz!!!!!!0

I completely hear what you are saying BUT I still think you ought to give yourself some credit for the 25 pounds that you have kept off - that is really fantastic that you didn't go all the way back up!0

Me too! I just joined today. The first step in a long journey. I can understand fully your experience of losing the weight and then putting some back on. I am a 100% admitted emotional eater. Food has been my "drug" of choice for years now after losing my mom to cancer when I was 17 as a means of coping. Enough is enough. As my Doctor told me, you are only victimizing yourself twice my emotionally eating. I am planning on taking on a new challenge and "me" time. I am totally worth it!!! Let's do it!0
