I've been noticing more and more lately that since my life seems to be moving in the right direction (finally!) and I'm making progress on my goals, it's like people just want to dig up things from your past to irritate you or bring you down. Have anyone else ever noticed this?

For example, yesterday my friend decides to text me some screen shots from my ex-boyfriend's facebook and then proceeds to want to talk crap with me about his new gf and him. Let me say this ex of mine is someone I have blocked on facebook for a reason, I don't care about him and when we were together he was horrible to me. A lot of my self-esteem issues stem from him. So whyyyy does my friend feel like I need to see anything to do with him? Then when I started to think about it, it's always when things in my life are going great that she does something like this.

I just don't understand people.

Sounds like she's trying to tear you down out of some sort of low self-esteem on her part.

Cut her loose or demote her to drinking buddy. Either way - you really don't *need* people like that in your life.

Oh yeah, and she knows anyway because she was someone that I was close to when I first got out of the relationship with him.
