I've decided to try the ketogenic lifestyle. I personally felt that most of diet consisted of carbohydrates and made it hard to lose weight. Any suggestions ideas or recipes would be greatly appreciated to help me get started!!

No offense, but Keto posters are not looked to highly on by some folks in the forum. They think it's unsustainable. I personally am on it and don't really see the issue with it. Also, my brother (in combination with strength training) has been on it for close to a year and lost more than 120 pounds. He couldn't be happier. So, I'm following in his footsteps and using his success as sort of a guide.
Anyway, It's not that hard to cook keto. Take chili for instance. Make your chili like you normally would, except leave out the beans and/or potatoes. (Yes, I know it's weird... but in the south, potatoes in chili or chili OVER a baked potato is fairly common.)
If you want, feel free to add me. My page is private, but my diary is open to friends.0 -

Hi
I have been doing keto on and off for a while and I think it is great. I have lost 2 stones and managed to keep it off. There are loads of great recipes and helpful articles on Pintrest, which is where I get most of my ideas from. I would definitely recommend it. I will see if I can copy and paste some helpful links for you.0 -
Hope these help. Let me know if you need anything else.

This is also a great source for zero carb recipes:

I've done my share of keto. Just one peice of advice-- One high carb meal a week. It won't hurt your progress, it's a good mental break, and will prevent your thyroid from slowing down after prolonged periods of no insulin spikes. You'll want your thyroid working, I promise.0 -
Thank you....you all have been really helpful. I plan on doing the 3 day keto kick start I found on ibreatheimhungry.com. my body relies too much on carbs. Tried cutting back but by 2 pm I went into a carb frenzy.
Thanks again!!!0 -
What if you don't have a thyroid any more? Seriously, because mine's been gone for a few years.0
