Newbie and need advice

I am 5'7" and started at 132. My intentions were to only lose 5 pounds and to get in better shape. I have been going to the gym for 2 months now. I do cardio and weights. I am definitely in better shape but have a little pudge around my belly button area. So my question is, how do I lose that without losing more weight. I also think that because I have toned my stomach muscles the skin on my belly is loser so it is more obvious.

Are you following a strength training program? I know you said you are doing weights, but what kind?

you don't. if you lose fat, you're going to lose weight.

also, you lose fat wherever it comes off... not just around your bellybutton area.

so. at this point, you've got a few options. If you're just worried about your appearance, keep up the lifting, cut back the cardio, and put away your scale. Pick up heavy things until you're happy with your body.

I have been trying to follow a program alternating body parts on different days. I don't have a trainer so I am doing the best I can. I also feel that at 5'7" I am at a good weight but as most women, I am still concious of my mid section

eating clean isn't going to target fat loss for the OP.

starting strength and new rules of lifting for woman are great resources…

like others said ..pick up heavy stuff and put it down, preferably using compound movements..

    set your macro % to 40 protein, 30 fats, 30 carbs…

keep eating in a deficit ….

This. You don't need a trainer, just a good program to follow.
