Make it a habit - Challenge! All are welcome!

So they say it takes 21 days to form a new habit. Whether that is true or not, I'm not sure. But for me it seemed like the perfect place to start towards my new lifestyle change!
This journey that we are all on is not about a "diet." It is about taking on a new lifestyle (a.k.a. new habits!) What I propose is that we start a new challenge thread that focuses not on weight loss numbers but instead we will focus on consistency with our new lifestyle. Obviously, we can still work on losing weight in the process of establishing these new habits but what I am trying to learn is how to look at the BIG PICTURE overall and not just the number in front of me today.
Does anyone else feel the same way? Would anyone else like to join me in this challenge?
Here is how I think it would work, but please let me know if you have any suggestions! I have not set up a challenge like this before so I am basically winging it. :ohwell:
The challenge would last for three weeks from the date that you join in, this way new people can join in whenever they find us! At the beginning of your challenge you have to decide and post on this thread what task you would like to make a habit. Ex: drinking ___ oz of water everyday, logging all of your food everyday, walking a mile every day, doing a random act of kindness every day, etc. My thought is that you shouldn't try to do more than 1-3 habits at a time only to make sure that you can focus on what you're doing...
Every day (or at least most days) you would come to this thread and update us on if you were able to complete your task that day, how many days in a row you have completed your task, any difficulties you might be having with your task and any other general info you would like to share with the group. Then everyone can be supportive of each other and keep each other accountable. I feel like this challenge thread would only be useful if everyone was actively participating in it regularly.
At the end of your three weeks you can post a summary about how consistent you were with your task. And then you can decide to keep working on same task again or if you were successful in making your first task a new HABIT then you can start a new three week challenge with a different task.
If you are interested in this challenge please reply and let me know what you think! Let me know what your thoughts are for how think this challenge would work and if you have any suggestions. Or if you just love the idea, go ahead and choose your first task(s) and let us know what you will make a habit over the next three weeks!

Day 1 of my three week challenge:
I am choosing two tasks
1) Drinking at least 8 glasses of water everyday.
2) Logging EVERYTHING I eat, even on bad days.
These may seem pretty straight forward but for me, if I can stick to these two things for 21 days that would be a HUGE accomplishment!!!
I can't wait to check in with everyone so that you all can help keep me motivated and I can help you all as well! :happy:0 -
Working on setting up a group page now.
Would you prefer to participate in this challenge on a group page or on a regular discussion thread? or both??0 -
