how often to take a break??

I've been hitting it steady non-stop for about 6 months and feel like I'm plateuing. This is despite starting a bottle of halodrol last week. I did run a 25k saturday and lost 2 lbs just from that but since, I've been taking in 3800 calories daily but just don't feel like it's doing anything. I'm actually weeker this week than last. Would it be in my best interest to discontinue the halo, take week off to reset things and then give it a fresh go??

    The week after my first half marathon, I was achey and grouchy. And quite sick the day after, come to think of it (got myself dehydrated, go figure).
    I'd just rest a couple of days, eat enough, drink enough, and then get back into things slowly(ish).
    But then, I frown on the idea of medicating or supplementing yourself through 'tough times' when you'd probably be just as well off just taking a rest.

    That's what I'm leaning towards. Feel like I'm dumping the supplements. like my body can't utilize it right now anyways.
