Meaning, if you ate your maintenance calories in junk food? You would maintain your weight... You would just probably feel like crap.0
-
^^^agreed
I have those days here and there, I don't gain but I do feel like crap, especially the next day, bloated and running on empty.0 -
I'd definitely gain because whatever I "wanted" would be all the bad things that I usually don't have any self control for...cookies...cake...pizza.0

how much you eat = whether or not you lose
what you eat plays a huge role in how you feel.
so yeah, you could eat just twinkies and drink vodka... and if it was under your TDEE, you'd lose.
You'd feel like hell, I'd wager, but you'd lose.0 -
I don't get the question. What is the limit? Within your calorie limit?0
-
I always gain if we're talking about junk. Say if I have McDonald's and even drop cals to fit it in I put on weight.0

Probably from the sodium/water retention.0 -
Well... eating whatever I wanted is how I ended up fat in the first place! For the most part I eat healthy foods (plus some sweets), I just eat too much of them. My hope is to someday train myself to know intuitively when I've had enough, but that'll take a long time.0

I do eat whatever I want within limits and I'm loosing.
My limits are a calorie goal based on a small deficit.
Before, as I got fat I was eating whatever I wanted without that limit.0 -
My diary would look pretty much like yesterday most days and I'd maintain my weight, just like I have since January. Do I have days I really pig out? Sometimes, but not often. I don't eat a lot of junk food, but I am not a clean eater either. I did eat quite a few treats yesterday and was within my calories.0

I eat whatever I want & have maintained. I eat chocolate everyday. I never want to feel deprived. I do strive to hit my macros as well as eat enough fruits & veggies everyday.0

I eat whatever I want, stay in a deficit, lose weight, and feel fine. No "feelin' like crap" here.0

Maybe, but only after the affects of the vodka has worn off0 -

Pretty much. But I do try to pay attention to macros and eat lots of fruits and veggies too.0 -
answer is the following:
1. if you ate at surplus you will gain.
2. if you eat at maintenance you will maintain
3. if you eat at deficit you will lose

yes, but those foods did not make you fat…overeating on them did ...0 -
I do eat what I want, every day. The point is, what I want to eat is a mix of healthy foods and some treat foods. I like to eat the foods I eat. (check my diary, it's open). I'm at maintenance, so I maintain my weight. I feel really good because I eat good food and I enjoy what I eat.0
