I need to eat 20 grams of protein every 2 1/2 hours. I did well this week but I need more ideas for protein because what I am eating is getting old. Right now my main source of protein is chicken and egg whites. Other suggestions would be great

Well to answer you can eat some nuts for protein, quick snack. Has fats as well so can be pretty caloric but not sure if you care or not.
To ask my own question....why on earth do you need to eat 20 grams of protein every 2 and a half hours?0 -

Cans of tuna or salmon? Cottage or ricotta cheese? A protein bar? Cold cuts? Beans or legumes? One of those whey shakes?0

Actually its not the amount so much as why you need to have it every 2 and a half hours that confuses me. What is the point of that?0 -
Why does timing matter? Do you have some kind of health issue that demands it?0

Another one that doesn't understand the frequency.
In the past it was thought you needed to eat small amounts of protein regularly because the body could only digest so much at once.
This has since shown not to be the case.
Plenty of other lean meats you can go for - ham, beef, etc.
Some low fat cheeses such as the weight watchers one we get here are pretty good - 30g protein to 10g fat. Low fat mozzarella can come in at around 20g protein to 10g fat.0 -

I mean if you want to eat protein every 2.5 hours because you like doing that fine but you certainly don't have to and you'd probably find it easier eating 40g every 5 hours or just your full amount whenever you feel like it over the course of your day.0 -

I think he mentioned it keeping the metabolism up ? I don't questio. It because it's working lol wish I had a better reaso
However it's now been shown that if you have two small meals, it will keep your metabolism higher... by half the amount having one larger meal earlier would.
So it doesn't really matter how often you eat, just how much as far as metabolism increase.
You could suggest he does some research to get up to date with current knowledge.0
