Have you ever had one of those days that was going well untill 1 thing goes wrong and just ruins your whole day, and to top it all off, your overly tired?? I'm having one of those days. It is taking everything in me right now not to run to the store and buy junk food and just sit around and binge on it. I've only been at this 5 days, and don't want to ruin my progress now.
Anyways I think I just needed to vent, thanks for reading

Yes! I've had many, many days like that. You can do it, though! Stick with it. Instead of going to the store, take a walk and exercise some of that angst away.0

i have many days like that.alot more here lately..but my problem isnt running to the store, its the food thats in the house from the holidays! i know i wont make a run to the store just for junk so thats not my worry..its having it all here calling my name and i cant seem to curb it no matter what i do!0

Step away from the car! Do not go to the store unless you walk. During your walk you can think of some healthy options for your binge session.
As my Mom would always say, "Take your negative energy and do something positive with it" That way you can work through your anger and have for example, a clean house, a nice long walk, etc.
Hang in there.0 -

Yes, I have days like that all the time. I am very consistent and good w/my exercise, but I fight food cravings all the time. What I try to do is just keep busy so that I don't sit around and munch on junk food. Hang in there and keep your goals in mind. That will get you through the food cravings.0

Don't give up!!! We all have bad days but the most important thing is for you to know that one of the purpose of this site is for incouragement! Whatever it is you can get though it and if you slip....oh well!!!!Tomorrow's a new day!0

I've totally had those days! I try to distract myself instead of giving in. I usually try to go for walk, call a friend, read a book, or, if my kids are around, play with them. Sometimes, I'll make myself a coffee with some sugar free syrup to trick myself into thinking I'm having something sweet. (When I've had a bad day, I usually want to drown myself in chocolate.) Since starting MFP, I've found that distracting myself on here helps, too. Good luck and try to focus on what you've accomplished so far! Know that you are not alone!0

Hang in there! This will pass and things wills start getting better. Going for a walk is a great idea--listen to your favorite uplifting music while you walk will help, too.0

I think thats what I love about this site over any other method of weight loss I've tried before, on here I don't feel alone! I love reading the blogs and have found many good tips and a ton of motivation and advice. So far I'm sipping on some green tea with a little honey, maybe I'll take a nap, at least get rid of the tired part0

i just heard from a friend, something that might help you...it takes 2-3 weeks to break a habit and start a new one....if you can fight through this craving and not give in..you're that much closer to breaking that cycle. i fight cravings almost daily but like another person said turn that energy (that craving) into something positive..go for a walk...chew a piece of gum, just take your focus off wanting to hop in the car and buy buy buy :-) or go buy healthy snacks!! you can binge on veggies or fruit any time :-)0

clean lady clean! that's what I do, i scrub my house within an inch of it's life...strap a heart rate monitor on and you can add those calorie deficits to your work out...when I'm super pissy I usually need to sweat it out though...hit the gym (even if you don't have a gym membership, pay $6 to go for the evening)...or go downstairs and let Jillian Michaels bust you up...either way sweat it out...or meditate...if you don't know how, google it...there's tons of ways to center yourself, even if it's just deep breathing exercises...you're retraining your habits, no different than smoking...when you get stressed out you have to find an alternative behavior instead of binging...yelling into a pillow also works lol0

I keep really nice smelling herbal teas on hand when Im having a "craving". Smell is such a powerful sense that it really helps me when Im feeling like that.
My favorites are Chocolate Mint, Cinnamon Spice, Berry Zinger, black licorice to name a few . . . . .
This has been my personal challenge . . . emotional eating . . . I don't handle stress well and would previously run to the kitchen or snack bar at work . . . that has been my biggest obstacle in my journey for sure!
I promise myself every morning that I will be completely dedicated to my health, and weight loss goal, that day . . . and that day only. I focus on 1 day at a time, so when these moments come up I grab a glass of water, or tea, and renew my morning promise to myself.0
