There are a ton of tattoo related threads, but I know how much it sucks to start a thread and no one wants to participate, so...

<< There's mine. It's my maiden last name (which is Lebanese) in Arabic.

mine is symbolic of my children... one flower for each. The flower is my favorite - a stargazer lily. Lilies symbolize faith and purity (again symbolic of my kids - we had issues with conception). The bird is a ruby throated humming bird, and they are both July babies - birthstone: ruby.

    I absolutely LOVE my tattoo

Mine says "I'm proud of my family history".

ETA: not literally obviously, my remark was in response to the "tattoos say something about the people that have them" comment

I like people like him. it gives a chance to see how far people still have to go with acceptance off tattoos.

I have quite a lot and still manage to have a great job and good life.

both of your tattoos look really well done

I have a couple more, but these photos were easily found

ETA: The back piece I had done because I'd always wanted a back tattoo, but then the whole "tramp stamp" phenomenon began, and since mine was a lower back tat, I had more work done to make it a "piece." I'd like to eventually do some more with it, just not sure what. The one on my leg is a coverup (obvious). It's not because I regretted the old tat, it was my first one, but it was just a boring little flower with a design around it. It wasn't really pretty, cute, or anything else, it was just boring. So I had the new one created. The girl is me, a line drawing done from an actual photograph.

And a pretty sweet one it is. If I had a nicer back I'd add to mine and make it bigger. but I've already used up the prime real estate. lol

I have over 60 hours of ink; my back is almost fully covered in black and grey - outer space/solar system theme, my right ribcage is a tribute to Mexico because I love the culture - piñata with chicklets and a sugar skull, and my right sleeve is all candy (connecting to the Mexico piece). I can't figure out how to post pics on here so this is the link to a pic of my sleeve.

Say you have an older tattoo (15+) and it's started to fade and get blurry, do you cover it, or let it "age gracefully"?

If I liked it, I'd leave it. If I was no longer happy with it, I'd see if I could get it retouched, or I'd get a cover up done.
