i'm not sure about mfp but try http://www.diabetes.org (american diabetes association) and http://www.choosemyplate.gov (my plate) for good info and tips.

I am type 2 insulin dependent diabetic. I am trying to shed some pounds in hopes that it will eliminate my need for insulin, or at the very least, cut the amount of insulin I take on a daily basis. Best of luck to you!!
