Food while travelling ideas

I've just booked a holiday to Portugal; the hotel I am staying in is "Room Only" - As far as I am aware from looking at the hotel's website; there are no make-shift cooking appliances (eg: Iron/Coffee Maker/Kettle) nor is there any form of refrigerator to keep things such as meats & dairy cool.

I'm staying for 5 days; and don't really fancy eating in the hotel restaurants (or eating out in general) for breakfast, lunch & dinner, Mainly because I want to keep spending on this trip to a bare minimum, but also because I feel that 5 days of eating out would derail me a little bit.

Anybody have ideas on healthy snacks & meals that can be prepared & consumed without the need of cooking or refrigerating?

I think you're going to be a little restricted! I would imagine you'll have a kettle; all basic hotels from my knowledge have them. Fresh produce i.e salad is probably the way to go. Is variety an issue? Maybe check out if they have any local markets, get some inspiration? You can make your own dressings too. Just remember that the water probably isn't treated so wash your goods in bottled water :)
