Hi All,
I am wanting to start lifting at home. I have dumbbells but no barbell yet. Does anyone know if I can get full and effective workouts for all parts of my body with just my dumbbells? Thank you!

You can. Just about any exercise that generally utilizes a barbell can be modified to use dumbbells. Youtube can be a great resource in this respect.

It would not be considered "heavy", but I have been enjoying strength workouts from FitnessBlender.com that use dumbbells (I always use the heaviest weight I can manage for the 10-14 reps they have you do). You can choose workouts for total body, upper body, lower body, varying lengths, etc. I have been using them for almost 5 weeks, about 2-3 times per week (with cardio 1-2 times a week as well), and I can notice/feel a difference. I like having someone walk me through the form and the reps, so I don't have to think about anything but doing it! I always feel that *good* soreness a day or two afterwards as well.0
