Food in TV shows... seriously!!!

Am I the only one who pays way more attention to that than I should?

But seriously... does it make anybody nuts when they get those delicious foods to eat, but then just put them down and ignore them? How could they? Like that detective who got a cronut a couple weeks ago... and she's all excited about it... doesn't even have one bite and puts it down and goes on about her case. The whole time I'm like 'OMG GIVE ME'. Or that guy who orders food and just leaves after taking one bite and stating that it's delicious. COME ON.

And those surgeons who have three pieces of lettuce for lunch. I mean, come on. You pull 20 hour shifts, you're on your feet all day, you're supposed to save people, and you eat a tiny salad for lunch? What's up with that?

And then there's Dean Windchester, who should probably weigh 300 pounds, but who at least I can relate to.

A lot of the food you see on TV shows isn't what you think it is. An ice cream cone or sundae is made with mashed potatoes (ice cream wouldn't hold up under those lights), so licking/eating it isn't appealing to the actors. Some things are made out of dyed bread or other things, and they're all served at room temperature. Lettuce that's been under hot lights for hours isn't that appealing.

Also, it can take HOURS to shoot a scene, so if they were really eating that food, they could be consuming thousands of calories shooting one short scene.

lol last night my husband and I watched the first 5 episodes from Season 1 of the show "Girls" (loved it btw) and it made me want string cheese and hot tea, because of characters eating/drinking that...

I also felt kind of annoyed at one of the beginning scenes with Lena Dunham's character of Hannah eating a cupcake in the bath tub, they were talking about her being chubby and I thought "ugh is this show going to be nonstop stereotypes about the slightly chubby girl eating cupcakes in the friggin' bath tub!?" But no...it wasn't.

Well considering all the running around they do, he probably burns it off. (And as tight as money has been shown in some episodes, only two meals a day wouldn't surprise me.)

    I love Dean Winchester!

ETA: I love food too. I'm occasionally envious of all the tasty stuff he eats.
