I'm really 'in it to win it' this time and am making a reward board to help keep me motivated. It's really fun, but sometimes hard to know how often or how big. Are you and what are you guys rewarding yourself with along the way?

Non-food rewards - a new book, shopping for mostly inexpensive items- accessories (will get a new wardrobe when i hit my goal!), movies, etc. Used to rely on food to "reward" or "comfort" me that's how I gained weight so don't want to start that again.;)0

I think you just need to figure out what works for you. I don't need a daily reward, but I usually set goals like running races or hitting a particular number. I'm never quite sure how long it will take me to hit a certain number on the scale, and now that I'm less focused on a number and more focused on my overall appearance, it's even harder to determine. But I think if you need a pick-me up, then give yourself one.
I tend to buy cute workout clothes or something fitness related.0 -
Yeah. I'm rewarding myself with spa treatments, professional hair care, piercings, tattoos, and shoes.
Every 5-10 pounds (after I can confirm I have consistently been at the mini goal weight for at least 2 weeks) I do something for me.
In another 5 pounds I'm getting inked.
I don't reward myself with food. I do go over calorie limit some days when I'm eating what others cooked for me because being rude seems worse than being fat to me, and because one day won't kill my hardwork or motivation.0 -
I did this initially and then determined that for long term and sustained success over the course of the rest of my life I was going to have to make fitness and nutrition a part of who I am and what I do...rewarding myself for rocking my nutrition and fitness at this point is like giving myself a high five for bathing.0

Whatever non-food item I can scrape up the cash for, including out of the change jar. Small things like books, a movie, something from the thrift store. My favorite is anything that involves having to leave the house. It reminds me that if I get fat again my social anxiety will increase and I'll stop leaving the house. So sometimes I'll go shopping and not find anything I really want to buy, but it's still a treat. Likewise a black coffee or some unsweetened tea from the mall. Wander around window shopping, sip warm calorie free beverage, remember why gaining back the weight is a horrible idea. Repeat as needed.0

I'm not where i want to be so no rewards. but i do reward myself everyday with a 6.2 mile run. a little shorter on the weekends. i want to do 5.2 on sat and sun. but this weekend it will only be a 5K race i'm running. I still might run on sat. those are all the rewards i need.
other rewards I give my self is running gear, shoes, arm compression sleeves, socks, visors, hats. anything i can use for running. anything dri fit!!!!0 -

I'm with you on being used to food as a reward so I found this a bit challenging. Amazing how when you say books, accessories, outfits the old habit of using food as anything other than fuel come into perspective. Thanks for the great suggestions!0

lol I was wondering if someone would say this! I have all kinds of guilt around giving myself credit for doing things that are part of regular self care etc., but I figure if it helps then it can't harm...0 -

Anything fitness related! New workout clothes, shoes, new mp3 player ect. For me then I'm excited to use them which means doing something active! Double win0
