My boyfriend heard a buddy talking about drinking tea and now that is all he talks about. I would like to get peoples opinions on Tea. What brand do you like? Pros? Cons? What kinds to stay away from? Things to watch out for?
Also, he is on this kick about having a shake in the morning for breakfast. This is what he plans on putting it it:
* yogurt
*Skim milk
* some type of fruit (strawberry, banana, etc...)
* Protein powder.
My question is, what is the best kind of protein powder? Pros? Cons? Kinds to stay away from? Things to watch out for?
Any advice is much appreciated

I like tea, although I sweeten it with truvia, but it's a nice way to fill yourself up if you're hungry but it's not time for your next meal, plus I find it great to warm up when it's cold. I like tazo chai and passion teas.
I love ON whey protein powder for my protein shakes; tastes the best, blends te best, although I recommend against shakes for breakfast-it's not as filling long term because all the ingredients are blended when you eat then so your body doesn't have to work very hard to break everything down vs if you eat your breakfast and it has to break down the chunks food.0 -
I make breakfast and then about 2 hrs later have a smoothie before work. Here's what I put in mine and it keeps me full for a good while:
1/4 Cup Plain Greek Yogurt
1/2 Cup Unsweetened Almond Milk
1 Med-Lrg Ripe Banana
1 Tbsp Unsweetened Cocoa Powder [i use the hershey's brand]
2 Tbsp Milled Golden Flaxseed
1 Cup Ice Cubes
If you get a greek yogurt that isn't too sour and a good ripe banana you won't need any sweetener added. If the opposite is the case I've added a drizzle of honey to it before.0 -
For tea: Any of the regular grocery store brands (Lipton, Tetley, etc.) which comes in a bag, DO NOT BUY. They use poor-quality tea, basically the dregs and dust leftover after all the other tea companies have purchased the nice whole tea leaves. Also, high-quality tea shops are less likely to have pesticides in their tea, and are more likely to purchase their ingredients from fair trade certified sources (meaning that the workers are given a fair wage on the plantations, the plantation meets a certain level of employee safety standards, and there is no child labor.)
I prefer Tao of Tea online. They have very detailed descriptions and flavor profiles, specific instructions for each type (even specific temperatures for the water) and they sell samples by the ounce so you can try some of the more expensive teas without spending a bunch of money.
Teavana and Adagio are also nice for some variety.0 -

I pretty much do the same shake but minus milk, add water and spinach! So yummy
I did a quick google search, I've heard of a lot of these, might be worth checking out: http://www.proteinpowder.net/
I personally use amped wheybolic 60, I do 1 scoop which is 20g of protein and depending on the shake will either use strawberry or vanilla. I also use chocolate with milk as an after-workout replacement snack sometimes.
As far as tea goes, anything herbal! I love the nestea peppermint one! So yummy! but if you wan't caffiene, a breakfast tea is probably better. Earl grey and lady grey are yummy, I only sweeten with 1 stevia packet for each, not really needed on the lady grey to me...0
