Smoothies!

I've been wanting a smoothie-maker for a while now, and have literally just ordered one (to arrive tomorrow). Any good and nutritious smoothie recipes?

Any combination of banana and nuts with a bit of almond milk. SO NICE (and filling), but you have to grind the nuts first (I have a handy thing that does this) or use nut butter.

You can also go with natural yoghurt and a selection of fruits.
  • 1 cup of coconut water
    1 cup of frozen strawberries
    1 banana
    1 cup of spinach
    1 cup of frozen mango

I have a green smoothie every day and my favorite combo is:

    2-3 cups baby spinach
    1 cup cucumber
    1 chopped up pear
3/4 cup frozen pineapple (could be fresh too - I just buy the big frozen bags from Costco)
    1 lime (peeled)
    2 cups coconut water
    2 Tbsp chia seed
    3 Tbsp flax seed

Goes in the Nutribullet and comes out with about 32 oz of healthy goodness! I have half for breakfast and half for an afternoon snack.

    Enjoy your smoothies!

Unthawed frozen wild blueberries (Costco has 4lb bags quite reasonable or Wylers 1 lb bag at most groceries)
Fat free Greek yogurt (like Fage)
    Unsweetened almond milk
Scoop of chocolate protein powder (I use Optimum Gold Standard chocolate malt whey powder)
A few fresh strawberries if they are available
A few ounces of unsweetened tart cherry juice (optional)
For additional nutrition can also add a scoop of green super food vegetable powder (like Garden of Life). Also comes in chocolate.

Buzz it up. The fruit-chocolate combo tastes like dessert. Enjoy!
  • Thank you everyone! I'm going to pick it up today, and for everyone mentioning Costco, I'm from the UK :) I'll search up replacements online! x

    My go-to recipe is:

2 cups leafy greens (baby spinach and/or kale)
1 cup frozen fruit (right now I'm using mixed berries)
    1/2 banana
1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
    1-2 tbsp black Chia seeds

If you're on Pinterest, search "Green Smoothies" -- there's a TON of recipes!

    My favorite smoothie is:

    5 ice cubes
1 cup pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)
1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
    1 large ripe banana
    1 tsp cinnamon
    1 tsp vanilla extract

This makes two servings, about 125 calories per serving. Tons of fiber.
