Do they make such a thing? I've been looking at fitness trackers, fitbit, body media, and garmins new vivofit. But what I really want is one that can also track my runs and tell me pace as I'm going. Tell me there's one out there!

Garmin Forerunner 220 or 620 will give you a lot of information about your running, but the battery doesn't last all day.

You are looking at two very different requirements, as wristbands are just overenthusiastic pedometers so have very low battery consumption and a simplistic instrumentation set, whereas a GPS is much higher power demand for a more sophisticated information set afterwards.

The Polar V800 is supposed to hit the market any time now (originally marketed for an April 2014 release ... now saying May). GPS training watch with all day activity tracker capability ... with the very hefty price tag to go along with it ($400+ without the HR strap, $450+ with it).

For now, the more cost effective option remains two devices

I believe Nike makes something that goes in your shoe & tracks all of that. Google it & good luck!

i have one and am on garmin connect.

about the person who said that it doesn't last all day - they're correct - who runs all day anyway?

realistically, if you're doing 3-4 hour runs you'll be fine.

Read the question, fitness band and GPS tracker, so essentially something that combines FitBit or Jawbone alongside a Garmin watch. It's two quite different requirements, so where the pedometers last for several days on a charge a Garmin watch will only last for hours, and not a full day.

I LOVE my Garmin 220! I compared my iPhone Nikerun app with the garmin and they both say the same speed and distances. I only use mine when running or riding my bike and have never had a problem with the battery life. But who runs/bikes all day long??

    :)

Just FYI, the fitbit is really just a pedometer. Not a HRM or GPS. It's useful for slow paced workouts like walking.

Hmmmm I hadn't thought about the different battery life requirements, so maybe with a garmin 220 with a hrm, I wouldn't really even need or want a fitbit. I mean I hrm would be way more accurate that that anyway. Yah, I'm no where near 3-4 hour runs, working up to a half marathon in June.

220 or 620, I'm undecided on the two. I'm not sure that the touch screen is worth the extra £100

super late, but the FR15 with Heart rate band is great it has step and sleep tracking but functions like a normal gps run watch. for $169 and $200. and unlike most fitness band you can see the screens perfectly clear when outside.
