Walking with stroller

So I am a new mother trying to loose weight and one of the ways i hope to do that is by pushing my baby in the stroller on my normal walk. I currently put in that my walk is at a 2.5m and burn 73 calories for my 15 min walk (I use to do a 30 min walk at 2m as well). I looked at changing the walk to the ONLY pushing stroller option on the list but says my 15 min walk would burn only 60 calories. Now maybe I'm wrong but I just think that if I'm walking at my normal pace that I should be burning more calories if I'm doing it while pushing a 35lb jogging stroller + 15lb car seat (attached to stroller to allow it to work with a newborn) + infant. Because honestly while my route is fairly flat I sure feel the burn in my calves while pushing the stroller. The question is how many more calories would it be?

I would just use the regular walk amount if it's fairly flat. When I had my son (augh almost 24 yrs ago) I lost all the baby weight walking with the stroller, the walks were a minimum of 45 mins and included lots of hills (pushing a stroller up a hill is a great workout). I also used to pick up a few bags worth of groceries (the stroller had a rack on the bottom to carry things) which added to the weight. Walking pushing a stroller is a great way to get your exercise in. You could figure out the distance of your walk to accurately be able to calculate the pace.

I walk my 3 year old in a jogging stroller for 1/2 hour and burn 90 some calories.

I would just go with the regular walking. Remember that MFP is really bad for over estimating calorie burns so that is kind of a wash. I use a HRM for my runs with and without my 9 month old. The difference is a whole 50 calories on 4km run, so while it might feel harder, the increase calorie burn is pretty tiny.

OK! Thanks everyone, its interesting that with the HRM it the stroller only adds 50 calories. I expected it to be more than that. I'll just keep using the regular exercise.
