Hi All,

I tried out the WW brownie in a mug--something like 1/2 C cocoa powder, 1 C sugar, 3/4 C flour, baking soda, salt, vanilla, cornstarch. Take 2 T of this mix and add 1 T FF vanilla yogurt in a mug and microwave....I had high hopes.........but sadly, it was so gross!!!

Anybody else have a delicious brownie in a mug recipe I should try? I need something at night to satisfy my baked goods cravings....

Thanks!

  • They have it on facebook xD hang on :3

    5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

    4 tablespoons flour
    4 tablespoons sugar
    2 tablespoons cocoa
    1 egg
    3 tablespoons milk
    3 tablespoons oil
    3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
A small splash of vanilla extract
    1 large coffee mug

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly.

Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.

Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.

Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts (high). The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed! Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.

EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous). And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!

I found this on another thread but haven't tried it yet. I thought it sounded pretty good, though!

    chocolate muffin

.25 cup pumpkin puree (25 cal)
1 egg (or 2 egg whites+1 tsp oil) (70 cal)
2 tb cocoa powder (50 cal)
    sweetener (i use1-2 tb sugar) (45 cal)

microwave for 2-2.5 minutes OMG i have a high micro so i do 2 min and its texture is very moist not dry...
this is modified from chocolate covered katies recipe...

One note--the cocoa powder I use (Hershey's baking cocoa) is 10 calories a tablespoon--I don't know what kind the OP used.

It is not in a mug (I make mine in a half cup bowl or small ramekin ) but I can strongly recommend the Trader Joe's reduced guilt brownie mix. There are instructions for making an individual portion on the box (the instructions say mix it with yogurt, I have used plain kefir or buttermilk instead and it still works). It gives a nice, moist, intensely chocolate flavored brownie!

I always use plain yogurt or whatever because the mix is very sweet - I have also added some additional fiber without ruining the taste or texture.
  • Thanks all for your yummy suggestions! I will definitely give all of your suggestions a whirl! MMmm......brownies! If anyone also has any low cal ideas for desserts in general, feel free to share! Thanks again for all of your recipes!

I got this recipe off MFP, but I'm so sorry I cannot give credit to the originator because I didn't write it down. They were delish! Very moist and more of a cake consistency. I used 2 eggs instead of egg beaters because that is what I had on hand. And I used by As Soon on TV Brownie pan that cuts the brownies into 18 squares to my brownies ended up being 48 cal per serving even though I used real eggs.
