I'm gonna vote for Pastry/Cookie cleanse. There's so much yummies to be had with that!
    Get out of my head.

My husband may dislike that idea because he's cutting. But I'm in.

Wait am I one of few people in here doing this while cutting?

I'm quasi-bulking (haven't managed to gain any weight yet) but I have done ice cream every day while cutting as well. In some ways it was easier because when cutting I gave myself a higher fat allowance.

Nope. I'm in a deficit. I still make it work. I completely plan on having my cake and eating it too. It's worked so far!

I saw Turkey Hill Sweet Potato Pecan Pie at the grocery store (Giant for me, but I am sure you can find it if your local grocer sells Turkey Hill) & it's a limited edition flavor. I didn't get it since Turkey Hill wasn't on sale this week.

Tried the Haagen Dazs Caramelized Banana & had two Sun Cup Dark Mint Cups.

Just a heads up, but if you have a Shoprite near you, Talenti will be back on sale starting Sunday for $2.88.

Time for me to restock the freezer! :O

I wish it were that cheap here. Giant had it for $4.99 so I just ended up buying their store brand Red Velvet Cake (never tried this flavor) & their Mint Chocolate Cookie which is amazing.

I had a JSF day yesterday. After I went to Balducci's and got the 2 Steve's ice creams (we left for the beach later than planned, so I had time after all!), we stopped at Super Wal-Mart to get food for the house. I had to get the Sam's Choice coffee and donuts. It's way different from Steve's. Dang was it good! I left it at the beach house for someone else to enjoy.

Sorry to intrude but....dammit. This thread makes me sad, as we just don't have that kind of wild variety here in Oz. Ben & jerry's has been made widely available, but not a big range.
Even Gelato is limited to swanky ice creameries and cafe's.... In supermarkets there are maybe 3 brands and a wild variety of probably 4 flavours in each brand.
    *cries*

Yes, but you can get passion fruit everything whereas my supermarket just took away my passion fruit on the bottom Greek yogurt.

Also, I will be trying Talenti based on this thread.

Yay!!! That Lemoni Biskoti sounds good. I'll have to keep it in mind when I have room in the freezer. And now I want to look for that sweet potato one dunnodunno was talking about!

I had a full serving of Steve's NOLA Coffee & Donuts. It's good if you like coffee and stale plain donuts, and not sweet like Sam's Choice, or with as many different flavors in it. I wouldn't buy it again. Sam's Choice was definitely the winner for me in that flavor.

The black and white cookie was huge even though it doesn't look it. Biggest black and white I've ever had.

I was going to 'quote' but got lost in it all (I'm tired as HELL). But yeah, I'm in a deficit while eating the ice cream. And I've lost 4 freakin' pounds! The most I've lost in forever consistently. I may just stick with ice cream for a bit..... mostly to clear out my freezer... so I can restock! HA! I've not updated my list because weellll... tired. And to top it off, I've pulled/twisted something in my back and it hurts to move. So I cleaned out my shed and garage today. UGH. I shouldn't have done so much. But I figured if I went slow I would be ok since I couldn't lift. I got a lot done, but I am POOPED. And it doesn't help I was fighting the plague of carpenter bees that would flood me every time I MOVED. I so deserve Talenti tonight. I don't know which I'm going to have. But Lord help anyone who gets between me and that cold, sweet, heavenly goodness tonight.

You know... maybe that should be the challenge? THE DESSERT CHALLENGE! :D

So are we doing a new thread for baked goods cleanse or just posting in here or what's the deal on that?

I need to start up another one..... I don't have any sweets in my apartment at the moment. Other than Breyers' Strawberry Shortcake from pre-cleanse that I'm trying to finish off. ;(... I've been super picky with my eating lately and cannot pull the trigger on anything.

I lost something like 2.5 lbs. in the 30 days. I had just increased my calories and started running when it started (eating back most exercise cals), so can't really complain about that loss.

Over half of my calories today were in ice cream, because well, it was one of those days. 1 cup of B&J That's My Jam and 1 1/2 cups of Talenti chocolate PB cup. I'll empty out the freezer one of these days.

I'm sticking with my ice cream, because I was eating it pretty much every day anyway. I guess if we did a cookie cleanse, I could add a cookie in there, too, but it would probably be the same cookie every day. I'm having Talenti German chocolate cake for breakfast.

Day 1: Breyer's Tiramisu Gelato; 1/2 cup; 8/10; strong espresso and cream flavors, needs moar ladyfingers. Would bang again.
Day 2: Ben & Jerry's Hazed and Confused Core; 1 cup; 7/10; really digging the hazelnut flavored ice cream and the hazelnut fudge "core," chocolate ice cream flavor is pretty standard, not a huge fan of fudge chip speed bumps. Enjoyable, but I probably won't buy it again.
Day 3: Went to the new market by the gym to look at their interesting ice cream flavors, but I got side tracked by their hard cider options... 330 calories of delicious hard cider later, I realized there was no way to fit ice cream into my day. Wah wah. But the two days on the cleanse appears to be working; I was down a pound yesterday. I must resolve to get back on track today.
Day 4: Breyer's Tiramisu Gelato; 1 cup. Pretty sure that Iliftheavyacrylic is correct; whoever approved the "servings per container" or the serving weight must be dead behind the eyes.
Day 5: It happened again. Went to the new market to look at ice creams; got distracted by cider. On the plus side, I'm trying some really interesting artisanal ciders.
Day 6 & 7: As is typical of me for cleanses and other dietary restrictions, the weekend really does me in. I was mostly good all week, but then Saturday and Sunday come along and derail me with pizza and beer.
Day 8: Talenti's German Chocolate Cake Gelato; 1/2 cup. Sweet Jesus. I need this in my life. Every day. It's glorious. I'm incapable of more complex thought. It's a milk chocolate gelato with a caramel swirl and candied pecan and coconut pieces. 10/10, but would not bang again. Would respectfully court and woo with the intention of marrying. Would probably get serious and say "I love you" too soon. But we'd work it out because we're meant to be.
Day 9: Talenti's German Chocolate Cake Gelato; 1/2 cup. So, we had our second date last night. Nothing too wild and crazy; we played a little Left4Dead2. I daresay the epic zombie-slaying may have brought us closer together (survivor's guilt, maybe). I know it's too soon to say this but... guys... I think she's the one. There's a lot to appreciate, but I frequently find myself getting lost in the caramel swirl. The occasional candied pecan breaks the trance, but what a way to come out of a reverie. ... SIgh.
Day 10: Ben & Jerry's Hazed and Confused Core; 1/2 cup & Breyer's Tiramisu Gelato; 1 1/2 cups. My initial impressions for these stand.
Day 11: Ben & Jerry's Hazed and Confused Core; 1/2 cup. Officially out of all my other ice creams and gelatos besides German chocolate cake. Might pick up an extra pint of that for the deep freeze on my way home, but I'm hoping to grab some new ones that I've read about. (The coffee and donut one from Walmart, in particular, plus whatever finery I see while reupping the GCC)
Day 12: Talenti's German Chocolate Cake Gelato; 1 cup. Parting is such sweet sorrow. Additionally, I went to the market that night to get more...but it turns out they had a 2/$5 sale. They were completely cleaned out.
Day 13 & 14: As per usual, the weekend derailed me with pizza, caramel rolls, and beer. I like to call these "mini-cleanses." As in, "Yo' dawg, we heard you liked cleanses, so we put a cleanse in yo' cleanse!"
Day 15: Talenti's Southern Butter Pecan Gelato; 2/3 cup & Talenti's German Chocolate Cake Gelato; 1/2 cup. The market was still running the 2/$5 sale, so I grabbed the butter pecan after securing some caaaaaaake. While it's not as good as GCC, it's still pretty darn good. I find it difficult to describe the base because it was so...buttery, but it was a very satisfying savory-sweet flavor. They threw in a generous handful of roasted pecans (also buttery tasting) and swirled dulce de leche throughout. 8/10; will definitely buy again when I want an ice cream that's a little savory, but I typically prefer chocolate and/or sweeter flavors.
Day 16: Talenti's Southern Butter Pecan Gelato; 1 1/3 cup. Had some rage-pain cravings from Mother Nature, so I basically just ate the rest of the container and regretted nothing.
Day 17: Sam's Choice Coffee and Donuts ice cream; 3/4 cup. Pretty glorious coffee flavor. If I had a cup of coffee that tasted like the base of this ice cream, every morning would be best morning. The icing swirls look downright indecent, but the sweetness it adds complements the coffee ice cream very well. The donut bits are a necessary addition; not-so-sweet and usually occurring in sizable chunks, they're like little speed bumps on Mainline-Sugar Highway. I'm pleased that the consistency of the donuts is more of a "cake donut" variety, as well. 9/10. I can see this being a staple in the freezer--it helps that it's among the most economical of all the ice creams I've bought for this cleanse (both in terms of $$ and calories), as well as being easily available at my usual grocery store.
Day 18: Sam's Choice Coffee & Donuts ice cream, 3/4 cup, & Talenti's German Chocolate Cake gelato, 1/2 cup. I originally intended only to have half a cup of each, but I ended up throwing in an extra 1/4 cup of the coffee & donuts in an attempt to get all the deliciousness in before the coming two-day drought.
Day 19: Arrived at the mountains for vintage snowmobiling fun. No ice cream available, sadly, and I did look. I made a "Cinnamon Bun" cocktail that was sweet enough it may as well have been ice cream. 3 parts Rum Chata, 1 part Kahlua, stirred over ice. ~500 calories.
Day 20: Day Two of my winter isolation and still no signs of lif--er, ice cream. Someone brought up scotcharoos, in which I indulged quite happily. Washed a couple down with a "French Toast" cocktail that tasted a lot like the french toast I had for breakfast that day. 3 parts Rum Chata, 1 part maple whiskey, stirred over ice. ~517 calories
Day 21: Somehow, someway, we made our way back to civilization. I celebrated with 1/2 cup each of Sam's Choice Coffee & Donuts and Talenti's German Chocolate Cake. ... It's good to be back.
Day 22: Talenti Sicilian Pistachio Gelato & Haagen Dazs Green Tea ice cream; 1 cup each. I went grocery shopping that night and it was the first time I'd seen either of those options at my local grocery store, so I was practically obligated to get them...and then sample them...heavily...later that night. Green Tea ice cream review to follow later, but this is the first time I'd ever had pistachio ice cream/gelato ever. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was absolutely delicious. The base was sweet-savory, creamy, and had a delicate pistachio flavor, all of which I found very pleasing. The pistachio pieces were chewy without being crunchy, which I'm also down for--I don't like crunchiness in my ice creams, though. My only concern was the preponderance of pistachio pieces, or rather, the lack thereof. I didn't mind the scarcity, but I can see how some folks would want moar pistachios. Overall, 10/10; I will definitely be purchasing this again.
Day 23: Talenti Sicilian Pistachio Gelato, 1 cup; Sam's Choice Coffee & Donuts ice cream, 1/2 cup; Talenti German Chocolate Cake Gelato, 1/2 cup. This is the second night in a row on this cleanse that I actually had a full pint of ice cream, albeit different ice creams.
Day 24: Since I felt sufficiently "stocked up" again on ice cream from the weekend's abstinence, this was a beer and cider night. J.K. Scrumpy's Organic Cider, 22 ounces; and Leinenkugel Snowdrift Vanilla Porter, 12 ounces; add it all up for a total of zero regrets.
Day 25: Haagen Dazs Green Tea ice cream, 1 cup. I wasn't really sure what to think of this the first time I had it. I love tea--green tea, red tea, black tea, white tea, whatever--so I had high hopes for this one. It just didn't measure up to my expectations. The consistency was smooth and pleasing on the tongue, but I felt the flavor left a lot to be desired. I like Haagen Dazs's base vanilla and chocolate flavors on their own, and this tasted like they just added a scant amount of green tea flavoring/coloring to their vanilla. It also left a strange after taste. 6/10; not the best, not the worst, would still be willing to try a green tea flavor from another brand.

So i was away from a computer for a while there... I don't have a lot of time for a post right now, but I had to at least get in on the new thread!
Day 26: I was traveling in the evening, so I picked up a Nestle Toll House Ice Cream Sandwich (made with Mrs. Field's chocolate chip cookies) when we were about halfway there. It was tasty, but I have to admit that it was ice cream for ice cream's sake. 6/10; I'd grab it again under similar circumstances, but it wouldn't be my first choice on an average day.
Day 27 & 28: Standard weekend booze derailment; Day 28 had the additional joy of homemade angel food cake, macerated berries, and whipped cream. ... A lot of whipped cream.
Day 29: Talenti Sicilian Pistachio Gelato; 1 cup. Still so seriously delicious. I never thought I would get so attached to a mildly savory ice cream.

Day 30 and some bonus days to make up for the boozy weekends will follow later today. Mild spoiler: reviews of Jeni's Roxbury Road, Ben & Jerry's That's My Jam Core, and Talenti's Old World Eggnog. Also, I may have gotten a little carried away.

i quite like it. the lemon ribbons are nice and the biskoti pieces are sufficiently crunchy, not soggy or overly chewy. but the servings feel small. i think it is 72 or 73 grams (i forget which) instead of 100 or more like many others.

After cranking out the 10 page term paper, a final exam that was 7 pages long and a two page essay my brain shut down. i'm trying to get the last essay done, then i will just have another final next week and i'll be done!

in the midst of all this writing i just couldn't seem to forget about Steve's Southern Banana Pudding. It has been on my mind ever since MrM27's review. So although i have WAY TOO MUCH ice cream left in my freezer i just ordered from Steve's online to celebrate almost being done haha

got 2 Mint Cacao Chip, 2 Southern Banana Pudding and a Sunday Morning coming my way.

( they had a new one on the site, carrot habanero pepper. I decided to pass on that though...also decided to skip the coffee & donuts. i think i saw someone mention a stale donut flavor. blech. besides, i can get that one at Wholefoods if i really want to try it....ok, back to my school work.....)

^ I recall you listed Jeni's Cinderella Pumpkin flavor the other day.

I must know more! I saw it on the shelf, but the Roxbury Road called to me with its chocolatey decadence--it whispered caramel promises in my ear and...well... I'm only a woman, after all.

Oooooh, I can't wait to hear how the Southern Banana Pudding and Sunday Morning are! I only had my mind on the Mexican chili chocolate and the coffee & (stale flavorless) donuts (that was me, I'm glad you didn't waste your money), so I didn't even notice if the store had those two. I'll have to look when I go back for more of the Mexican. *wiggles eyebrows*
