I'm new to this too. Today is my first day. I started it on the wrong day. We had a family reunion today. I didn't stick to my life change and almost ate all my calories at the one meal!!!

That's ok forbesrgh, Chalk it up as the wrong day and start again tomorrow.

Good for you Sam. My son was exactly in your position a few years ago and now he is much slimmer after having been inspired by reading about good nutrition. He was always into being active (find activities you enjoy or just walk as much as you can), but he upped his activity level also and he is so much happier with the way he looks now. His brother, who growing up never had a weight problem, now has more of an issue, possibly because being more naturally skinny, he rested on his laurels. Realizing at your young age that you want to change and working at doing so may benefit you more in the long run than if you hadn't had to deal with this at this stage.

I may be biased, but I'd say SWIM! It burns the most cals that you can get in a low impact exercise.

That and eat lots of good foods.
