BodyMedia Fit questions

I just got a BodyMedia Fit Link armband and started using it yesterday, and their online help is...well, not so helpful. I'm trying to figure out how to make sure I'm not double-dipping with my exercise calories.

I work out with Fitness Blender videos and previously I've been logging them as one calorie because I was using the TDEE method for weight loss. I still want the Fitness Blender workouts to appear on my feed so I can keep accountable for workouts with my friends. I'm assuming the armband is calculating my *actual* burn and adding it to my calorie adjustment for the day. Is that true? Is it still the best solution to add the workout manually and log it as one calorie burned?

Or should I be using the "Workouts" tab in the app somehow? I've done search after search and there really is no information about why the workout tab is there or how to use it properly. Is it like a RunKeeper type thing that just keeps track and tells you when to stop because you've reached your goal?

Other than these questions I'm really liking the armband and the data it provides.

The BMF already accounts for everything you do for the day including exercise. You can just post a status update detailing your workout for your news feed and accountability.

with a bodymedia, you do not log exercise at all. It tracks your TDEE from midnight to midnight. If you want to log a workout as a way to remind yourself of what day you did what, you can log it as one calorie.

Do you have your Body Media sync'd with MFP? If so, then Body Media will add in those extra calories for you. You can still log your exercises on MFP as "1 calorie" if you just want to keep track of what you've done. You might want to enable the negative calorie adjustment function also (if you haven't already). This is so on those days that you're not as active as your armband anticiaptes initially, it will subtract calories from your daily total.

I use my Body Media to do my version of TDEE. Some days I burn 2400 calories so I eat 1900. Other days the burn is only 2000 so I eat 1500.

Thanks very much! I will just keep logging the exercise as 1 calorie, and I enabled negative adjustments too. I appreciate all the advice!
