Yesterday I competed in my first powerlifting and it was pretty cool! I was super nervous but I think the nerves helped me!
I had my brother video all the lifts here's a link if anyone is interested in watching!

It was a small meet there was only one womens division with 9 competitors.
My first attempt squat was 210 which in hindsight was probably too low and it was a good lift. 2nd squat lift was 225 and it went up way easy so I set my third attempt at 240 (which was a PR) and it went up way too easy as well. I was totally kicking myself for not going higher!
Bench is my weakest lift. I started at 100 lbs and it was good and went to 115 for the 2nd lift (which was a PR) and it was also good so then I tried to go for 130 for the 3rd attempt and it was a fail.
For the Deadlift I also started too low on it. I started at 225 which is 50 lbs below what my current pr was. and it was way way way easy. went to 260 for the 2nd and it was also too easy. so for the third I decided to put it all out there and go for 300, which would have been a 25 pound PR, I got it up but just could not lock it out. Also I always do a double overhand grip and that was WAY too much weight for that and my grip was slipping.
Overall I'm pretty proud of how I did and looking forward to my next competition which is a strongman in August!

Well, I wanted to see your video, but it says you have not made it available on mobile, so I can't watch it on my iPad. Can you change the setting? Anyway, congrats! What an awesome accomplishment!0

Yep. Would have had the 300 easy with reverse grip.0 -
Awesome work. Definitely go with mixed grip. I am approaching a 500lb deadlift and I wouldn't even use double overhand with 300. I'm using mixed grip by 225.
PS - work on some leg drive and your bench will really improve0 -

GREAT job! :drinker:0

Good for you! Meets are amazingly fun. And don't worry about your openers being a bit too light. They're supposed to be so that you get on the board.0
