Also I always do a double overhand grip and that was WAY too much weight for that and my grip was slipping.

Yep. Would have had the 300 easy with reverse grip.

Awesome work. Definitely go with mixed grip. I am approaching a 500lb deadlift and I wouldn't even use double overhand with 300. I'm using mixed grip by 225.

PS - work on some leg drive and your bench will really improve

Good for you! Meets are amazingly fun. And don't worry about your openers being a bit too light. They're supposed to be so that you get on the board.

    (Competitive kick boxer).

Your FIRST meet? Girl, you projected confidence! Nice! You cleared that hurdle to competition in a big way! You should be so proud of yourself! Go you!!!

    Great job.

Now kick your brother in the shin for not doing you justice and doing a bad job as a camera man.

Yeah I wanted to kick his butt for only getting the plates on the end of my 3rd squat!

    Congratulations!

Working out opening weights is always an art with competitions. You want to have something 'safe' but usually you aren't sure how you'll go with nerves and things.
