Bizarre clothing problem

I am finally seeing some weight/inches lost and should go down a size or two in clothes. My problem is that I have gotten so used to wearing everything so baggy as a way to hide my body that I am having trouble wearing a size that is more fitted than usual for me. I am fairly confident in my body and have a few things that fit well. The problem is when I wear them, I am starting to hear the concern for my weight loss comments like have you been sick or you are skin and bones.

I am a professional in healthcare so I can often wear scrubs so it is not as noticeable but when I need to dress up is where my struggle is-advice?

My advice to you is…. tell them dam straight you lost weight, and then wear whatever the heck you want.
  • People will say stuff like that because they're jealous. Don't worry about it. Wear what makes you feel good!!!

Tell yourself "They notice something different and they feel like they have to say SOMETHING. Don't sweat it. Just smile and keep it moving."

    Oh, and wear whatchalike.

Snap! I have this exact problem, it drives my boyfriend crazy that I still wear baggy jeans and hoodies. He encourages me to wear more fitted things, but I just feel so awkward and self conscious in them. My suggestion is swap one piece of clothing at a time. My boyfriend will buy me a nice top but I can only have it if I chuck one of my old baggy hoodies in return, silly but effective.

Wear what looks good on you, maybe start slowly rolling the slimmer cut stuff in, so you get comfortable seeing yourself in them as normal and part of who you are. For the - too skinny - type comments ... if you feel great, and are healthy, just say that. Oh no, Im not too skinny, I feel great! End.

Good for you on your weight loss! And throw out the old baggy stuff, don't keep it around just in case. The new slimmer stuff is really you!
