What do you fear more?

I have been thinking and wanted to get some feedback and see if you are more concerned about sugar or fat in your diet?
Personally mine is sugar...

Fear is a strong word for two lovable items like fat and sugar. Now which one do I love more? That's a tough question...

I fear that I won't eat enough of them both.

    +1 and laughing in agreement

I don't fear either fat OR sugar!

To be honest though I try not to go into the red too much on either one. BUT I take into account what I have eaten that day.

Two avocadoes, olive oil, and a cupcake = way over on fat compared to my usual day, but still okay.

Eating a banana, mango chunks, strawberries, kiwi, and a square of chocolate in the same day = way over on sugar compared to normal, but still okay by me.

Just stuff like ice cream & pie & cookies sending me wayyyy over on fat and sugar = no bueno!!

That's how I view it anyway.

    Neither. The key is moderation.

I love both together! Why be prejudice against either?

Fear is a force that sharpens your senses. Being afraid is a state of paralysis in which you can't do anything.

I fear that too many people (with no insulin issues) are falling for misinformation and striving for diet programs that eventually fail when they can't stick to their regimens and restrictions.

That said, I fear neither which is why I eat ice cream.

Sugar. I don't tend to overindulge on unhealthy fats but I'm a huge sugar binger. Also, I use sugar like most people use caffeine so it leaves me all hyper and then feeling horrible. I'm afraid I'm going to really mess up my metabolism if I keep eating it like I do, but I have zero self control :( Working on putting together a collection of paleo treats I can use to wean myself off the chocolate bars.

Sugar because I am prediabetic. Not afraid of fat as long as it's healthy (like avocados).

Okay! So the only things we have to fear are spiders, snakes, werewolves, sharks, dying alone, zombies, clowns, heights, big dogs, robots with human brains, Johnson's wife, AND fear itself!

Buahaha. You made me laugh. :)

I love both, actually. Fat is important for your brain maintenance/growth and sugar (glucose) is necessary for brain function. Fearing food is not going to help with weight loss, and will only serve to hurt your health.

    I fear nothing!

    Just kidding.

But I don't think of food in a scary way. I suppose I fear calories more than anything.

I don't fear either of those things, what I fear is too much sodium. That is really too easy to have too much of. I love adding salt to my cooking but I need to cut back on it. I need to cut back on sodium in general. I'm still young enough to change the future of my health so sodium is where I'll start since I've got the exercise and moderation thing down.

Just think of calories as cute little creatures that come in your closet at night and knit your clothes tighter. Not so scary anymore! They're closet creatures.

fat is an essential macro-nutrient...so nothing to be concerned with there save for not getting enough and jacking your hormones up.

Further, I do not overly concern myself with sugar at the micro level as I really don't have any medical issues that would warrant it and I'm not insulin sensitive...i do track my carbohydrate macros though for which sugar is just a subset.

Most people who eat the SAD could stand to cut back on carbs and all of the added sugar and what not that is in their 40 oz Big Gulps and the like, but in and of itself, sugar is not evil...it is just consumed in massive quantities by some which can lead to weight gain due to the caloric density of sugar as well as insulin sensitivities in some.

I make an effort to eat less sugar, because I notice a difference when I do. But I'm not afraid of it.
