Where did I go wrong?

In September 2013, I had finally made up my mind that I was going to make a change physically. I began eating healthier foods, working out at least 5 days a week, and consuming plenty of water daily. I said NO to fast food, soda, anything fried, and just about anything that wasn't good for me. By December 2013, I had lost a total of 30 pounds. I have since, gained some of that weight back. at least 10 pounds. I get upset with myself because I had come so far but once I had hit 30 lbs, it was like I hit a plateau. I wasn't losing any more weight. Well not this time. I'm more driven than ever to get back on the right track and stay on it. I love Chipotle, but have tried to eliminate that as well.. I just hope that I will one day see the scale under the 200 lb mark. I don't log my exercise because I have trouble keeping an accurate count of calories, but I am considering purchasing a POLAR Fitness watch

If you aren't already using one, get and use a food scale. Weigh all solids. Measuring cups/spoons are not accurate:

Thanks! I have started using a food scale but it's not a digital one (not sure if that matters).. I never knew that measuring cups and spoons aren't accurate but I'm not surprised.0

I bought a POLAR FT60 in February 2011 and learned how to use it with one session with a personal trainer. I lost 11% of my body weight in 12 weeks and have continued to use it and now have lost a total of 25% of my body weight and over 6 inches from my stomach and hips. I really recommend it. It's good to learn how to exercise in your zones so that your heart is getting stronger and you are burning calories in a smart way. The mantra is: work smarter, not harder. I think continuing to log your food into myfitnesspal so you aren't overeating. Good luck!0

Best thing that I have ever bought was my Fitbit One - truly - I have started two groups and have lost 50 pounds successfully - best little piece of plastic or weight thingie - ever !0

Frustrating... I really do think keeping track of calories burned and consumed is the most important thing, at least it was for me. I'm only a couple of weeks in, but have already learned a lot about my eating and exercise habits. Does the
Polar Fitness Watch interface with MFP? The other thing I'm thinking is that you're not going to be able to do it by cutting out all your favorite foods. It's too hard and demoralizing. Instead, 'work' for your treats by burning off enough calories to offset them. I agree with Serindipte about food scales and portion sizes... It was sure an eye-opener for me! Good luck!0 -
Food scale is good but wish they would post in ounces as many things you don't have to weigh come in ounces, would be so helpful if ounces were used....good luck the plateaus are the worst and can be very frustrating but keep on trying, lots of help on this site.0
