Good Running Sneakers

I need to get a pair of good running sneakers. I have plantars fasciitis and I find walking/running for exercise very painful. I would need a good pair to help offset the pain I am going to feel from having this.

Thanks.

Recommending running shoes for someone YOU know is hard enough! but for someone you don't know and with a 'condition' ...

Best go to a specialist shop, me thinks. Good luck

Go to a specialist running shop where they will assess your gait and recommend shoes based on your requirements and the support you need.

Agree, you need to go into a shop and have them take a look at how you run i.e. are you an over pronator? Neutral? Under?.......how wide is your foot, etc. Lots to consider.

Personally, I need a wide shoe due to a little toe deformity and so I usually wear New Balance which seem to offer more 4Es than anyone else. And I buy my shoes from roardrunnersports.com because they have the largest selection, decent prices, excellent customer service, you can return if you don't what you bought, and the reviews are from real runners who give honest opinions.

But first of course you need to find out what kind of runner you are and the kind of shoe you need. Good luck.

Yes, go to a specialist running shop.

I did a few years ago and I was wearing the wrong size running shoe (your feet expand with activity) and I overpronate.

I now replace my shoes every 200-300 miles, I track the mileage on an app on my phone.

This last time I also added special inserts after trying them out.

Good for me may not be good for you ;-) a specialty store may cost you more, but will probably be worth it.
I've tried to figure the shoe thing out myself - I have pretty standard feet and gait, so I can mostly get away with it (or so I thought) - I am on my fourth brand of shoe now, each selection had slight improvements over the last (bit less pain every time). I ended up with minimalist shoes, really like them and will stick with them for a while, though I have to build my mileage more slowly with them.

Anyhow, you can play the guessing game, or have someone knowledgeable fit you with a proper shoe. They also take them back if they don't work out...
