If I eat clean all week, 1,200 cals a day and four, one hour cardio sessions in the gym, will a night out in the town on a Friday night render my work during the week pointless or should it not cause and effect. I do not drink beer/wine, stick to spirits and try to limit fizzy mixers.
Would still like to go out at weekend but do not want to ruin my hard work and progress during the week
Cheers

If you don't eat clean all week, eat at least 1800 calories a day and do half the exercise you stated a night out wont render your efforts through the week pointless.
As a young man you really should be eating more calories...I am almost 2x your age and a women and I eat about 1800 a day and lose.
So go have your fun...and re-evaluate your weekly goals...0 -

Pretty much all this. It's not about eating clean, it's about getting adequate nutrition and fueling your body to support yoru workouts. But low calorie + only cardio = muscle loss. At your weight, aim for about 1.5 lbs per week, eat back some exercise calories, increase protein and do some weight training 3-4 days a week and cardio on the other 2-30 -

Also, pick up a food scale. That will be one of your biggest keys to success. It helps maintain accuracy0 -
You have to live your life. If you see it's not working for you, then go out every other weekend.0

Why are you eating so few calories?!
As another poster said, get a food scale. It'll really help you.
The amount of calories you're eating may be hindering your loss, try bumping it up. Also, limit the alcohol perhaps to once every other weekend. You can have fun without it. Perhaps be the DD those weeks you don't drink?0
