I know i asked this but now i can not find where lol I am staying within my 1200 calories, i am also watching my carbs, sugars, fats but i am confused about what is referred to good carbs or sugars in fruit... I eat a grapefruit in the morning but its quite a bit of carbs and sugars, I also love fresh fruit and eat alot of watermelons, summer fruits.... I am down 7 pounds so that is good but again i am a fruit and veggie eater ... also i will put peanut butter on a slice of low carb bread and they say peanut butter is good for you, so my question is I guess is carbs carbs no matter good or bad?? do they absorb differently into the body depending on the type?? thanks

I've had 98 of them so far today. Carbs are sugars, starches, and fiber. All three are great. There's no such thing as bad food or good food. Only your overall diet and habits can be good or bad.0

Im sorry Wendy, i confused lol ... So do you just look at your overall calories for the day or do you also stay under the recommended carbs, sugars and fats on the daily progress??? I don't mean to sound stupid about it0

Carbs are carbs are carbs are carbs....
Also, dietary fat is an essential macro-nutrient...dietary fat does not make your fat...in reality, cutting dietary fat often leads to hormonal imbalances and nutrient absorption issues which can make weight loss more difficult.
Carbs are not inherently evil; that said, it is common for individuals who are overweight/obese to have insulin sensitivities even if they aren't full blown insulin resistant/diabetic. These insulin sensitivities can make weight loss difficult and people who have them find that cutting back on carbs often alleviates this problem, particularly if they are rather sedentary.
In general, people who are accustomed to the SAD could do well to cut back on carbs as the SAD is very carb heavy and in particular, laden with added sugars which can exacerbate insulin sensitivities...but that doesn't mean you have to low carb...more or less have a more balanced diet of protein, fats, and carbs.
In general, people who are active are going to do better with more carbs and people who are rather sedentary are better served to reduce carbs somewhat...but again...you don't have to low carb. In the hierarchy of things which are most important to weight loss, it is eating to an appropriate calorie goal.0 -
Ok, thanks ... i am not really a big carb eater anyway but i just wanted to make sure because there's things that have carbs that i was surprised that did....
thanks again0 -
Good carbs = Carbs that are nice to others and play well
Bad carbs = drug users, murderers0 -

Might as well not even try and you should just FedEx me all your ice cream, cakes and cookies.
I think yesterday I had 158g. And all that should go to me...for my gains O.o0 -
oK no one actually answered my question LOL... on the plan, im at 1200 calories, i also watch and stay below or at the recommended carbs, fats, sugars in the daily report, is that what i am suppose to do? or not worry about that and just stay at 1200 calories??? because like i said i like fruit and and oatmeal... and stuff like that and that always pushed up the carbs so even tho i have plenty of calories left over at the end of the day, i am sometimes at my max of carbs....0

Plenty of calories left over on 1200? Ok, that is another issue. Anyway, the idea is to hit your calorie and macro targets (on average), not stay below them. The content of what makes up those calories should be what you prefer and/or works best for you.0 -
If you're calories are acceptable then the macros shouldn't make too much difference in weight loss. I try to steer clear of refined carbs but that's so my blood sugar doesn't spike and cause me to be hungry but that's just me. I know my "trigger" foods and only eat them occasionally.0

Ok, thanks I don't usually have alot of calories left over, usually if i go on the treadmill at night instead of in the morning i have alot more because i get back... but you guys have helped, thanks0

I would watch your carbs, protein, and fats...if you get those numbers right then the calories balance out. Look up macronutrients, and calculate how many of each you should have daily. I count macros, not calories, becuase I want my diet to be balanced. If I just count calories I could eat cake till I reach my calorie goal, and have not had any protein at all! Also, there are complex and simple carbs. Complex carbs come from things like veggies and whole grains, simple carbs are from white bread, sweets, and food like that. Eating simple carbs (like a piece of fruit or a piece of candy) right before a workout is good, it is easy fuel for your body to use. Other than that I try to stick to complex carbs. So, what I'm trying to say is: you can eat your carbs, just balance them out with some protein and fat.0
