Hey there!
I was wondering if anyone out there is in the same boat as me. Im 5' 8 1/2 inches tall. My heaviest was 240 and Im now 140lbs. It took my about a year to get here. Im not noticing a lot of loose skin, but when Im in plank position I notice my belly hangs and sags down. Could this still be fat? or is it just left over skin? Im not sure where you could get this answer. I know subcutaneous fat is stubborn and hard to lose. When im standing you dont notice it much. Just a ? something ive been struggling with. Thanks for any help.

I know how you feel on this subject. I'm sure by now you have heard all the rhetoric about the skin being an organ and eventually it will tighten up. And the part about drinking lotsowater and exfoliating to remove dry dead skin cells and on and on and on. Well all that is true plus a lot of time.0

I was in a small group class with a friend who has always been a healthy weight. We were doing planks, and she commented on her tummy hanging down. She's fit, has never had extreme weight loss, but has had two kids. That made me feel a hell of a lot better.
I also lost more than 100 pounds. Yep, my belly hangs a little when I'm doing planks. But apparently many women's stomachs do. I think you're like me...I don't notice a ton of extra skin typically, but in a bathing suit I do, or when I'm holding a plank position I sure see it. For me, I know there's a little fat in there (which is fine) but it's loose stretchy skin too.
So this is how I deal with it: You shouldn't plank looking at your belly anyway. Look straight down. Realize how flipping strong you are, and how far you've come, and that your body is perfect as it is, loose skin and all.0 -
I was going to just say what Shannon said.
My sister is slim and lean and still has a belly hang doing planks...she has had 1 baby but currently has a 4 pack..almost a 6 pack...0 -

Thank you guys so much for the quick replies! They are so reassuring and uplifting! problem solved dont focus on the negative! I love the idea of just looking down when you plank and remember how strong you are and how far you have come! That made my night!0
